One-Dollar Wonders

Today dawned pretty hazy and cloudy, so I felt it was the perfect time to debut my Ella Moss knit moto. I'm NOT happy with the way it looks like the tee shirt is pulling in the bust here - it didn't show like that in the house! I think it is time to upgrade to a new gray tee; this one is not only ancient but also a cheapie that bags out after a while. I did really enjoy wearing the jacket, though. It's a lovely and lightweight material that feels like a hoodie without... well, without being a hoodie, I guess. :)

Today I've managed to combine old things that look new (flea market bag and pants and knit silk tee, F21 jacket that has been shaved of pills many times) and new things that look old (distressed boots, leather belt clips). Felt very steampunk-has-some-business-to-attend-to, so of course the happiness factor was high. It isn't everyone's cup of tea to pair subdued shades with shocking brights, but the contrast appeals to me. :)

ETA: I've come to the conclusion that my makeup just doesn't come through well in these outdoor photos. I'm wearing just as much eyeliner, shadow, etc. as in my last post, but here I look way more washed out and bare. I guess that is why they always say to wear more makeup for the camera than for real life...

Another quickie, sent from the lunchroom :-). Nexx blouse, INC ponte pants, Fabby Godmother Miista shoes, Ted Baker bag, Nixon watch, gold belt, and my purse handle worn as a necklace! Very happy that clients liked my suggestions today - was even asked for my card. I don't have a card, but the mgr. Loaned me one for the department. Big fun.

Before I destroy the order with my chaos, I had to take a snap of my closet, post-huge-spring-purge. DH and I took everything out in order to do our seasonal clean, and I didn't let anything back in that I felt lukewarm about wearing again. Most of the top shelf is DH's tee shirts, but some of it is my (much reduced) bag collection. The main bar holds everything I wear aside from high summer short shorts, PJs, socks/tights, and scarves/belts/hats. The bottom is mainly my tall boot collection. I definitely have more short boots, booties, sandals, and pumps stashed elsewhere. This is 2/3 of the closet. DH has the last 1/2, plus the hall closet. :)

I wonder how long this organization will last!

B/W stripes, boyfriend jeans, silver bag, and galaxy oxfords, all in one go. But for some reason, this particular pile of trends does not offend me. *shrug* Worn out to make some returns on what turned out to be a really warm first day of March.

A wee bit dejected today, between DH's comments about my hair and my jeans. Normally I don't listen, but it's sometimes hard to take being called a "young Chinaman with breast implants" and basically being told that I am being brainwashed into liking bizarre and ugly things by paying attention to fashion. He is not being mean about it, just teasing, but yeah. Not really helpful as I start a career centered on fashion. -_-

Anyone else out there get persecuted for following trends? Even if you only wear the ones you genuinely like?
