Matching My Clamos

Another hot day, another perfect opportunity to bust out my clamos (camo clams - Thanks, Una)! I had wanted to wear my white BF jeans and a simple black tee, but it was warmer out than I thought. And since Claire reminded me that I've been neglecting my snake bag, I trotted it out, too.

Worn for a quick lunch at a new-to-me Thai place.

Seaside Patriot

I wanted to celebrate the holiday at work today, but I didn't want to be over the top. Went for blue and white, but left off the red in favor of silver. I think I want a wide silver belt to go with these sandals!

Camo Clams

In all the trench excitement yesterday, I forgot to post my outfit! This was worn briefly out to do laundry and run to the market.

The camo clams are new, $1 from the flea market. I almost passed them up, but they are so. darn. lightweight. that I knew they'd be a great alternative to short shorts for summer. And I needed an alternative since I've been much less enamored with short shorts this year.

I wish the clams were a wee bit more tapered, but with heels I don't mind the width at all. Aimed to balance the GI Joe element with a feminine silk shirt, wedges, and shiny arm candy. Really enjoyed the effect aside from the fact that I have a metal allergy and really shouldn't wear metal jewelry when it's this hot.

Urban Warrior Mermaid

That's how this outfit made me feel, anyway!

Sorry for yet another mirror pic - my complex is redoing the floors on a vacant unit, and my photo alley is taken up with trucks and lumber. At least the blazing sun has provided sufficient indoor light.

The weather channel informed me that today's "Real Feel" temperature would be 95-degrees F, so I knew I had to wear something breezy for when I left my air conditioned workplace. Chose a $1 bemberg dress I cut into a hi-lo hem last summer and paired it with my unlined Ella Moss moto. Went for girly heels and necklace since the jacket and dress created a lot of volume and not much shape. The watery colors and long "tail" of the dress made me feel like a mermaid or sea nymph -- which is something I don't say often, let me tell you!
