For my fantasy life in a colder climate, where owning more than 2 wool coats would actually make sense. Just dying over the bold, Tim Burton stripes on an outerwear piece - now that is a commitment to stripes! I would wear it with denim and other blues, browns, and grays to soften and steampunk it up.
Sigh... there is one floating around in my size, too. Shopping for Real Life hurts sometimes.

Zapotee's post with her coat today made me want another winter coat but I am in a similar climate as you and don't need more than what I already have, sadly.
Those stripes are awesome, though .... :) We can just live in a dream world where we can have as many winter coats and unpractical items of clothing and shoes as we want, right?!!

Love this! Maybe there's a non wool version out there, like a heavy cotton twill. LOFT had one last spring (although it was black and beige, not black and white).

I second Shannon. I really like this. I live in a very cold climate. And I love the crispness of black and white.
Not sure it fits with modern classic, and probably not in my size, so I shall dream with you!

What about a pretty blazer (http://www.modcloth.com/shop/b.....nce-blazer)? Not really the same stripes though :( Just reminded me of each other.
Call me crazy bt I would actually look into it. A remarkable coat is a hard thing to find. Rita, that KS coat went on sale. I don't know if they still have but last time I browsed their site, they had a 30% off on it.

That is a sharp coat, Rae. Can it replace one of your other real world coats?
I'm just your average working stiff who loves nice things and hates to pay for them.
