Jade green, cotton lined, soooo comfy. Having a hard time taking it off mid weight, not hot. thoughts? Am I allowed? Crazypants deal.

Yaaaay. It is mine!
Now the pajama jeans are going to have to be pretty awesome to stay, but I will cross that bridge when I get home...

That's Forest Green. And on trend for Fall 2014.
Killer jacket.
Warning: Remember your leather jacket requirements, and how many you passed on because they didn't work. Be very discerning about this leather jacket.

Now that I am at home, I see the color isn't coming through exactly. It is this one... looks like the official color name is Sage.
http://www.lyst.com/clothing/v.....cket-sage/I hear you, Angie! I will have to try it with a bunch of outfits today. The lining materials and weight are right for me. Does it look like an indoor jacket to you? I think my original problem was that I was buying outdoor jackets to wear inside. Then I started making the mistake of polyester linings.
-
Vicki replied 10 years ago
OMG!!! Take it home, NOW!!! ETA: What kind of lining is this and do you recommend, Rae?
-
Echo replied 10 years ago
I realize I am late to the party, but I am so glad you took it home! It looks like a fabulous quality jacket, and it fits you perfectly. I hope it plays well with the rest of your wardrobe!

Wow. it looks great on you- love the shape at the hem. The color comes across differently (and even more appealing to me) on the website.
It is worthwhile to test it out with your wardrobe, but I see why it was compelling. -
karymk replied 10 years ago
Wait, how many leather jackets do you own already?
-
Angie replied 10 years ago
Kind of looks like a teal on the link you posted.
Absolutely looks like an indoor jacket.
-
replied 10 years ago
Yes! I love it. Cotton lining? Light weight? The minimal zippers/belts/hardware should make it super easy to wear indoors.
I forget what your rules are. Do you have to let another leather jacket go if you keep this one?
-
April replied 10 years ago
Mmm... green leather jackets. If I didn't already have two...
-
Mia replied 10 years ago
Absolutely stunning! If it passes the "can I make outfits test" it's a keeper.
-
Ariadne replied 10 years ago
It looks even more killer gorgeous in the stock photos. Let's see it with some outfits!

rae replied 10 years ago
I will go with "teal," then! It almost matches my "emerald" watch, is a little more seafoamy than my "bottle" green Vince Camuto top, and lighter and more green toned than my "dark teal" Muubaa moto.
Vicki, the body lining is a brushed cotton, almost flannel-ish. The sleeves are lined in acetate. I totally recommend it!
Claire, no, I don't have to let another leather jacket go. I just did a big purge anyway, so I don't have to come up with something to kick out.
Karymk, I currently have three leathers that I wear indoors, plus a cheapie black Spiegel that is only for outdoor wear.

some outfit ideas. colors can be interchanged a bit, but I'm really feeling white and gray with the jacket today. Also like it with the fitting room outfit.

looks good! I keep meaning to ask, what are the boots you are wearing in #1?
-
deb replied 10 years ago
This totally works! I like the color in the link.
-
rae replied 10 years ago
Rabbit, the boots are the "Major" style by Fergie, from a couple years ago.

Rae, this jacket looks really good on you. If it's comfy and a good price, I would certainly keep it.

havanagirl replied 10 years ago
Glad to read you bought it! It really does look fabulous - the cut of it really complements your hairstyle.

Wow, that yellow jacket is a beauty, too! Your legs look incredible in all the boots and skirts combos. Just sayin'.
@Everyone: don't you know that Rae is the fit model for every single leather jacket ever made? That is the only explanation for why they always look SO amazing on her. ;)

About
I'm just your average working stiff who loves nice things and hates to pay for them. This blog outlines my efforts to navigate that treacherous shopping/saving divide through swappin', thriftin', and even a little resellin'. Many of the pieces in my wardrobe cost me just $1! We've heard a lot about people "living above their means" in recent years; I'm championing the concept of living large *below* your means - whatever that means for you. :)
