Blogger & Jacket Challenge Day 14: WWII Leather Jacket

The jacket is SO obviously not from WWII, but it sort of has that Captain America/ I-should-be-on-a-motorcycle-tearing-after-Indiana-Jones feel. This was the jacket's maiden voyage, and I'm smitten with it. Light enough weight that I didn't die in our 80-degree weather today (ugh, so over it!) and super soft. Paired with my BF jeans per the military-jacket-and-slouchy-pant inspiration.

If I could go back in time, though, I'd switch out my bag for a black crossbody and take my photos at a better time of day. The slouch and opulence of the painted bag is making the distressed boots feel out of place IMO.

In other news, this is also the maiden voyage of my new Rockport boots, bought specifically for long work days. Their test run did not disappoint. Super cushy, room for my toes to swell up, and easy to stomp around in. If I nitpick, well, they don't make my feet look any smaller, since I sized up for extra comfort. But that's about it! Unlike the last pair I ordered, the distressing on this pair is very nice and natural-looking.:)

i love the leather jacket, and the boots look great! The purse looks good too, but I agree a black crossbody would allow the boots and jacket to shine.

You wear jackets in 80 degree weather? Oy. And long pants too? Double oy. You can sure tell I'm not as used to dealing with heat as you are.

But it is a cute jacket, for sure. I think you're right about the purse.

Love the jacket and remember when you got it! Is that an inspiration pic, because I've had it pinned and am pleased to see it here!

Your interpretation of the blog photo really has the same vibe. I'm so glad that the new boots are giving comfort to your poor feet. You'll nhave to give us a better look at them. the jacket is perfect for your style and looks like a great fit.

Definitely a great jacket, probably my favorite so far. Love the boots too, and the outfit works well for the inspiration, but it's all different at the same time.

    I quite like the bag!
And I absolutely salute your ability to wear a jacket in 80 degree weather. You must be on Team Cold. :)

Rae-tastic! I don't mind the slouchy bag with the outfit actually but a black cross body would also work beautifully. So glad the boots are comfy.

Love that jacket and the boots - so great together! I agree with the bag afterthought but that's just a small detail. Cooler weather seems to be on it's way...

SWEET jacket, love the double zip. I think the bag here works in that carefree-motorcycle way, but I could see the black working well too.

(I have that photo pinned too!)

A jacket. In 80 degree weather.

Wow. I bow down to you. Bow down, I say.

At 80, I say it's still too warm for SLEEVES.

Okay, that over with, this jacket ROCKS!! I love it. I would wear it...well....at almost any temperature! What IS it? You must have posted about it before but somehow I missed it.

The boots are terrific, too, and if they felt good, that is even better.
