Blustery Day: Blue Fur & Modified UWP Sweater

I wore my gray military coat over this later in the day as well because it was just too cold!

The outfit started with my yen to wear this crazy blue fur Bebe cowl I nabbed at the swap meet this summer. Since turquoise and rust has been a fave combo since a verdigris post a while back, the UWP sweater wanted to play, too... but when I put it on, I just wasn't feeling it. Again.

I realized I had only worn this sweater 2-3 times since I bought it a year ago. So out came the fabric scissors, and I shortened both "flaps." The sweater still has the hi-lo shape and cutouts, but I think the proportions are better for me this way, as it feels less like the sweater is wearing me.

I am also currently wearing my hair like Stephen Chow in Shaolin Soccer. Definitely need to start calling some stylists for consultations regarding some serious razor action!

Your look warm and cozy. I like what you did to the sweater, good cutting. How are you holdibng up at work with the holiday rush happening?

Rust and blue are a fantastic combination and I love the slouchy way your shirt drapes over your jeans and belt!

Gorgeous! The blue cowl is so lush, especially paired with rust. I would do a triple take if I passed you on the street.

This color combo is awesome and I love that you cut the sweater to make the proportions better for your body!

Rae, that blue furry cowl is super-chic! And it looks great with that sweater.

Oh yay, the Heed copper sweater! I tried that on when you guys bought it, but I wasn't feeling UWP enough to pull it off so I returned it. Wow, I'm impressed you bossed your clothes around by hacking. Love the furry blue scarf too!

Fab colour combo and clever tweaking of the sweater. Is it a raw hem?

Oh! Super fab! Look at those mile long legs created by the black boots, jeans and semi-tuck. Love the lines of the sweater (now) and that cowl is amazing. Cozy-luxe. Love it!

Wow, I love this combination on you, Rae. The cowl looks SO cozy. And the sweater with the semi-tuck is wonderful.

I love the sweater and cowl together. I'm not sure what you did to modify the sweater as I don't remember seeing it before. It looks great and I wouldn't have guessed that it had been modified in any manner.

Another very 2012 look! Very fab!

(With a high-low pullover to boot).

  • Shu replied 11 years ago

Love the blue, brown, and assertiveness!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Thanks! The outfit felt risky, so I'm happy it is getting some good feedback. :)

Deb, yes, I'm holding up... barely, though. It is a mad house! Which is good, though, since it means good business.

Deborah, I did leave the hems raw. Figured it was more UWP that way.

Sara, here's a pic of the sweater in its original state.

Wow, what a good outfit! I still like mine long but it's good to know it will survive a chop if needed. Since I have two, I could always chop one eventually. Nice revision! :)

Oh, your blue fuzz cowl is so much fun! Want! ;>

  • replied 11 years ago

I love it. I do not recall seeing a scarf on you. So fab!

  • replied 11 years ago

Inventive solution! Think it looks great!

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

The cowl really makes this outfit! You look fantastic girl.
