Going Commando (No, not like that...)

I wore this out to try on some pants at Anthro, since I have my birthday coupon. The pants did not work out, but I really loved the outfit. Una was right that these Gidigio boots are magical - not only do they fit my ankles and calves and look good with both both skirts and skinnies AND BFs... today I crammed some bootcut camo pants in there for good measure. Who knows how they handle the extra fabric and yet still look so sleek in the ankles, but I love it! If Mary Poppins survived the zombie apocalypse and bought a pair of boots, these would be the boots!

Continued trying out tips and tricks the forum had left on my hair rant post. I cannot sleep with my hair wet or I catch a cold, but I did let my hair air dry most of the way this morning before zapping my roots and spraying. Not as much texture as pincurls, but much easier, and I was happy with how it looked out and about.

Oh, and also? I must have a jacket addiction. I walked by Lululemon on the way to my car and haaad to try on this jacket - the color is much prettier in person (like a cross between cobalt and sapphire), and it was SO comfy. Fleece-lined, removable hood and, lots of range of movement despite the bodycon fit (which I adore in jackets). I did leave it behind, which shows that my restraint is getting better, though I am still sort of hoping for some birthday windfalls.

SO awesome. I love everything about this. The light colors look great against the boots--really lets them shine!

    Very cool!

I succumbed in Lululemon the other day, but I really did need a good water- and wind proof jacket for running in the winter. I almost bought one on sale at Lucy instead that was less than half the price, but the Lulu one was just too cool. I wore it yesterday to run and really liked it. Team Wear and Team Full Price FTW! ;-)

I looked at the jacket you posted and it's so cute, but it's much too warm for me for actual active use. I need light layers. I warm up way too fast!

Love your outfit and your hair is looking great!

Is that the Run Bundle up jacket? I was totally looking at that for the colder winter runs coming up. It's looks awesome.

Awesome! Great new boots. I love the jacket too, and I hope it jumps out of your birthday cake this year. ;)

Those boots are really awesome n you, and they look spectacular with that outfit. Really amp it up!

Pretty jacket. Perhaps it will find its way under tree!

Magical - that's exactly right. Mine fit close yet have room as needed. I've dropped my babies at the cobblers to get a grippy sole put on, and I am SO ANTSY. I feel like I can't sleep knowing the boots are not close at hand. Sick.

You look fab! Stay strong on the jacket - or take up running! (Or have you already?)

Ooohhh...I like this kind of light colour scheme on you Rae with the strong black handbag and your kick butt boots.

Had a good giggle at your post title!

  • JR replied 11 years ago

I don't think I've ever seen you in this kind of colour scheme before. I absolutely love it.

I never in a million years would have anticipated how well this works if you'd described it to me.

Well done! Your hair looks great.

Rae, speaking of hair, have you tried hair powder/dry shampoo?

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    ADORABLE!!!

An 11 out of 10. Very tomboy, but the girly haircut, tight top and your smile make it all work together in perfect harmony :)

Janet, they had a lot of cute things! Which jacket did you get? I agree that it is too warm for a run, most likely, but I figured it would be like the Zella for me - everyday jacket that can be worn for a workout in a pinch or when traveling.

Rae, yes it is the Run Bundle Up. The cut is SO nice.... le sigh.

Una, it would definitely feel weird to have those boots out of my hot little hands... all I'm sayin' is it's okay to drink if you need to. ;) When I do workout, I run and that's it. But it'd be mostly for casual wear.

JR, you have a good memory! I've been looking for some "plain white" top alternatives for a long time. Finally bit the bullet when the job gave us an extra discount for the holidays. I love the super casual, slightly lumberjack vibe.

CF, yes! I have both dry shampoo and powdered wax.

Angie, thank you!! 11 out of 10 was my rating on the happiness scale, too. Gotta love consistency. :D

A beautiful outfit Rae. I particularly love the way the colours are balanced top to bottom, the blacks offsetting the other neutrals. Perfect in every way - including your hair!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

    You totally rock this look!

Woa Rae! This looks sooooo good on you! I love that feminine looking shirt with the dainty chain necklace mixed with the camo pants and kick-butt boots and handbag! Just perfect!
