Greetings from the other side...

...of the cash wrap! Just a quick pic from the restroom mirror, since I forgot to take an outdoor pic this am. Trusty microplaid silk pants, pony hair boots, and navy pullover. :-)

"From the other side" lol. I thought you were at a haunted house or something.

Very chic, and do I spy a stack of bracelets? So fab! And the lighting looks like you are wearing make up. (?) If you are, how do you feel?

how did your (first?) day go?

  • MNsara replied 11 years ago

You're looking stylish, exotic, beautiful! Love the hair and the pants with the pearls. '

Was this your first day back? How did it (or they) go?

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Thanks, ladies! This was actually my second day, but I got to really get into things more than last time. It felt really good! A lot like Dress for Success, actually, in the sense of trying to fit the needs the buyer communicates. ETA: sorry if I'm not commenting on many of your other posts tonight - I am readin them; I'm just pooped!

Denise, I actually always wear makeup, lol. I really caked it on today, though. BB cream, some light contouring, two shades of blush, two shades of eyeliner, white eyeliner on water line, two colors of eyeshadow, highlighter on brow bone, curling mascara, and lip gloss. Whew! It felt really heavy at first, but it felt great wearing it under all that store lighting. I think I feel way more compelled to enlarge my eyes with the hair this short.

Vicki, the pants are a red/navy on a cream field. They are the ones Una, Aida, and I all fought over at Shoptoberfest!

Una, yes, I'm not mussing it as much right now. I think I will do it more when it grows out, but for now I'm not digging how it puts the volume up so high on my face. Makes me feel kind of wedge headed. I want like... 1-2 more inches at the bottom.

Marianna, the fitting room key is that orange thing on my right wrist! :D

1- close up of pants pattern
2 - close up of hairdo
3 - Dissatisfied face with wedge hairdo styling

  • ElleH replied 11 years ago

Love the hair, the makeup & the pants. You look great! I'm always pooped which is why my comments are usually brief or non - existant so no need to apologize for not commenting.

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

And all along I thought you didn't wear a stitch of make up. I need to learn these secrets! What kind of BB cream do you use?

So the arm candy is functional too (dressing room key).

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

Great sleek modern outfit. Your face is now center stage and so lovely, with the shorter do! I sleek mine back along the sides of my head to avoid the widening you talked about. And I haven't yet dared to punk it out totally on top!

  • citygirldc replied 11 years ago

You went shorter??? Absolutely friggin' fab hair do on you. Now I really miss my short hair.

  • marianna replied 11 years ago

Ooooh now I see the fitting room key thing! ;) You are adorable and I am so excited for you! You're starting at a good time... Jan/Feb are slow retail months, but it all gets better now.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

You look so fab! Glad that your first days of work are off to a good start :)

I think you are going to love a few extra inches on this cut too! You need a bit more length to create mess, if you know what I mean.

  • Tina.b replied 11 years ago

You look so beautiful! That cut really accentuates your face, and your makeup application highlights it to its best advantage. Great outfit too. Love the print and shape of the pants especially.

  • siniestra replied 11 years ago

paranormal? lol really i can't get enough of ur style and confidence about choppy pixies (give up so easily you long hair) must be your confidence that radiates in u (and i don't wanna sound corny) lol but sure you look awesome ;)

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

I love the hair! I hear you on the styling issues, though. Mine is a bit like that too in terms of density. Black hair does not show texture as well, so even when it's well chopped up it can look like a solid mass on my head. It's why I'll sometimes add highlights, to emphasize the illusion of additional texture.

Hey, we fought over the pants, but all agreed they looked best on you!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Thank you for all the lovely compliments - it really helps boost the confidence!

Denise, yeah, I used to just go for a natural flush in the cheeks and some sheer lip color. I finally found a mascara that doesn't irritate my eyes, so I've been enjoying that. For BB cream, I order a Korean brand off of Ebay. Tried a couple of US ones, but I don't like how they work at all. This is what I have:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/330510.....1439.l2649

I like it because it does not whiten the skin as so many Asian BBs do.

  • Vicki replied 11 years ago

Rae, I took my cute package to the sushi bar the other night and asked him to look at it, because our sushi chef is Korean, and he got this huge smile on his face and said, "This is very good," and then he had me talk to one of the servers and she said she uses the BB cream, too, but a different brand (Misha). I'm glad you mentioned that it doesn't whiten the skin.

I just went to the Sayuki Custom Cosmetics counter in Laguna Hills and had some foundation made and I am 2-to-1 yellow pigment to pink pigment on my skin, as measured by their equipment that "read" my cheek. :)

  • lyn* replied 11 years ago

Rae ~ The BB cream works so beautifully for you! I've also tried a lot of the US brands and most of them don't sit too well with me, but I have found one that works. When my hair was shorter too, it was so cool - like yours. Now I want to get my hair cut :p

  • harmonica replied 11 years ago

Love the new hair and it really makes your beautiful face come forth!

  • Irene replied 11 years ago

Wow, you got a pixie!!!! (yes, I hadn't seen that yet lol). Looks great, so different from your long mane! The outfit is beautiful as well.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Lyn and CGDC, you both inspired me to explore short cuts!
