Inspired by McQ and AJ

Talk about slow to adopt a trend... AJ introduced the forum to this scarf-cum-vest trick 2 years ago, and I just now tried it out. Brilliant! Got a lot of compliments on my new "vest" and revived last year's scarf, which has been languishing due to my warm workplace.

Something about the pattern of the scarf when worn open like this reminded me of these McQ designs in pic 3, so of course I had to pair the scarf/vest with my citron shell and black skirt. Also? Man, if Nordies sold Worishofers, my worries about meeting my shoe sale requirements might be over, lol. Who knew these would be such eye-catchers?

The tulip hem part of the skirt might be too short for some tastes, but I desperately needed a change from midis, which I've been wearing almost exclusively for about a year now. The mini feels new again, and I figured why not wear it while I still feel comfortable. *shrug*

BR citron shell - BR
gauze scarf - Rack
FP ruched skirt - Nordies
Worishofer sandals - DNA Footwear
Brahmin satchel - Nordies
Nixon watch - flea market
Elizabeth & James sunnies - Nordies

Wow!  What a great outfit -and what a great trick with the scarf.  I'm going to study it now.

I remember her scarf as a vest post, it's such a clever idea.

Love it! The flowy scarf debombshells the mini. Love the colors, too.

Very nice. Have I ever seen you in a short tight mini skirt, Rae? Very different look for you. You wear this combination well.

YLF!!  The scarf really does debomshell the skirt in a fun and trendy way.

I've only ever tried it in front of my mirror-- not sure why it hasn't made it to the street yet but this is so inspiring. I love it!

I think the hem of your skirt is just fine. Something about the added translucent layer of the "vest" makes your skirt appropriate for multiple situations (dinner anyone???). You also have gorgeous toned legs that are showcased with this hem -- more than appropriate (said the mini-skirt lover).

Fab outfit! The "vest" debombshells the mini and it looks great!

Cool!  Love the gauzy scarf/vest, and the color palette!

I've tried the scarf vest thing and didn't think it was so successful, but I think it's because I don't have a scarf that's both large enough and sheer enough to get the proper effect like you have here.

Wow, my name and McQ in the same title?!!!  :)
Yay, scarf vest to the rescue!  I did the scarf vest a lot last year, but haven't tried it this year yet.  You've inspired me to try to incorporate it into the next two months of hot temps.
At first I thought your skirt was silky shorts.  You have lovely legs to sport a mini skirt.  The whole outfit is great!

This is a fab outfit.  Does the scarf actually stay that way or do you have to readjust?  Any fuss factor would kill me, but I so love the look itself!

Maybe you can sell Fly London's Ylva as a similar look to the Worishofers?

Although they're a sandal, they only showed up on the Nordstrom site a week or two ago.

    Ooh, good call, Donna!
