Latecomer: Ash sneakers in red, black, or green?

I guess the red is more like a burgundy.

I've slowly been coming around to the look of the Converse Hi-ness and other wedge sneakers on y'all, and DH surprised me by saying he likes it when girls wear the converse style shoes.

Eh, sounds like an excuse to get a pair to me!

But I have to move fast if I want to nab a deal, and I don't want to pay full price for this shoe experiment.

The question is: what color?? I know both black and burgundy would work in my wardrobe, but I don't have any green. Green might function as a taupe...

I see you in the burgundy, but I am sure you could rock them all!

I rather like the green. It has an earthy vibe to it. You are right that that particular green may work like a taupe/neutral. Any of the colors would be great. It is a cool shoe!

I like both the burgundy and the black.  I have been thinking about those exact black ones myself, but I already have a silver pair of Ash sneakers.

I like all the colours and I'm a huge fan of wedge sneakers...the ones I have are sooooo comfortable. I prefer the black/white ones in terms of wearability - I would have no idea how to style the red or green ones with that white toe, but your styling skills way outweigh mine :-)

I could see you rocking the burgundy ones!

I have the black ones and they have been a weekend workhorse. I would go for black or green because that burgundy looks more brown to me. The green looks dark olive which is a perfect neutral to me. Then again, you rock the rust shades..... Still, I vote green.

I've been stalking these for a while and I pounced on them yesterday ( about the same time I read Mo's post on purchasing...lol). I knew I didn't want black, I have too many black boots and shoes.  I ordered burgundy. I've never seen it IRL, I hope the color works out.

I think you can rock all the colors, but I'm leaning toward the green for you.

Rae, I'm wearing my burgundy ones to the get together this weekend. You can check them out then if you like, but that might be too late!

Here's a vote for green!  IMO it looks muted enough to be neutral.

I like the green the best, but I find black to be the most versatile.

Another vote for green, although I am very smitten with the burgundy.

Rae - I have the ash virgins which are the same sneaker without the wedge, I love them but the white toe does make the leg line appear a little shorter.  You might want to consider what color pants you will wear them with for the most part as a higher contrast color might make your leg line look less long.  Of course the wedge will make them more flattering as well.  On a personal note I would pick the black but they are all beautiful sneakers!

Whoa - tough call on the color choice. What works best with your wardrobe?

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

I like the green for you Rae. How high is the wedge? I've been thinking about a burgundy shoe for me and I do love my nesses.

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

Not Rae but this is the lower wedge heel that Ash has - I think it's 2". I find it very comfortable as I don't like flat sneakers on me, unless they are gear.

  • jurocha replied 10 years ago

I vote for green! You will rock them!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

    Thanks, everyone!

I ended up ordering the green - only size 40 was available by the time I settled, which was too big for me over a year ago, but my fingers are crossed because my feet got bigger working retail. If nothing else, I have superfeet insoles. :)

I really love the blood red color, too, but I felt like it wouldn't go with as much of my wardrobe.  The green can at least always bookend my army jacket and my Burberry!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

I think the green will be fab.  They do run big - did you read the reviews?

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Yeah, I did. I was going to try the 8s as well, but they sold out. :(

  • deb replied 10 years ago

    I vote red.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

I hope the green works out. It was my first choice for you. Bookending the Burberry is perfect reasoning for them.
