Long Shadow

Pretty much a utilitarian WIW today... FFBO doing the work for me!

Super tired, a bit cranky, but glad to have a day off tomorrow. Unfortunately, my next days off will include long drives and wedding stuff, so not much rest for the weary in sight.

Feeling like I'm at the point where I should wear Spanx with a dress like this. Either that or you know... diet and exercise. :P Not about to take a side view pic, though; let's just pretend this photo is an accurate representation...

Gibson blazer - Rack
River Island dress - ASOS
Brahmin bag - Nordies
Report booties - Amazon
Elizabeth & James sunnies - Nordies
La Mer wrap watch - $2 at flea market

Well, you look fatabulous, spanx or not!  I'm marking this for a copycat.

And I love love love your hair this length!

    Breathtaking!

Well I think you look marvellous but I do know where you are coming from. All the best for the exhausting sounding wedding!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

You look amazing. The dress has a great supporting cast in the bag, the booties, the blazer.

I think it looks good. But I really would rather see black on grey boots, but that's just my personal preference.

Great outfit, I really like the dress and jacket.... I think I need to figure out a FFBO.... I do spend a lot of time gazing into my wardrobe some mornings, a great dress like this might be just the thing to fix that :)

Great dress on you, Rae, and it looks fabulous with the jacket.

  • viva replied 10 years ago

I adore this whole look. That jacket over the dress is just fantastic, the proportions seem to work just beautifully together!

  • deb replied 10 years ago

This outfit looks so elegant on you.

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

The jacket solves any 'tummy issues'- if there were any- with its lovely hourglassy shape.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

    Gorgeous dress and jacket!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

This is inspiring!  Since starting the new job I have felt flabby and just yesterday I tried my B44 dress and couldn't bear the sight of me in it.  However, the jacket over the top just may solve my lumpen issues without organ-crushing shapewear.

    You look fantastic!

  • Sylvie replied 10 years ago

Well from this view it looks great on you ... and I'm willing to bet the side view looks pretty good too.

That formula of jacket over dress *really* works for you Rae.

Sometimes I make a mantra of......."Bodies are made in 3D.  Bodies are made in 3D, bodies are......"  You get the idea.  I suspect that the jacket does a better job than tight shapewear would in any case.  What a terrific FFBO!

Utilitarian never looked so darn good!

Super fab!  A blazer can cover a multitude of sins, can't it?

Why do you think I wear one almost every day?  ;)

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

This may be a FFBO but it doesn't look lazy.  Very pulled together.  I'm on team wear the neutral booties, black would be more leg stumping with a midi but that's just my opinion.  Grey could be an in-between choice.

This is the beauty of FFBO, they look so good that they can belie your mood. You might not feel fab Rae but you certainly look it.

    Great look, Rae!

  • Irene replied 10 years ago

You look smarter and taller these days! Gorgeous :)

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago

Looks fantastic rae - I love that jacket on you, looks perfect every time I see it, and the dress is beautiful on you too. I see no need for shape wear but I understand that feeling.

  • In My Joi replied 10 years ago

I really like this look! The contrasting color of the booties works well!

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

    You rock this Rae.

  • rute replied 10 years ago

    fabulous! So stylish and trendy!

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

    OMG, you look terrific!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

    Killer

You make cranky and tired look super gorgeous.

I really like the dress and the jacket. You don't look like you need Spanx to me. You look mlike you have a great shape. A lot of time if something has a pattern (as this dress does) it is more forgiving than a solid would be where every lump and bump shows up. I am like annaygbe I am not sure I like those shoes with it.

Well, cranky spanky, I think you look marvelous! With a fallback like this, you may never have to plan ahead again. Have a super good time with your weddin' festivities, I will miss you on Saturday. (hug)

    Stunning outfit. That bag rocks!

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

Don't be surprised if I copy this soon, dress and blazer twin! :-)

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

Super cool! Don't bother with Spanx, you are gorgeous as is! Why squish yourself? Love your hair and the blazer looks great over the dress. That bag really elevates the look.
