Manspiration Month: Day 28

Another day, another outfit inspired by a Harrison Ford character! This guy might be considered a raider by some more conservative people in his field, but you can't argue with a guy willing to brave a temple of doom for scholarly pursuits. Although I don't have an appropriate hat, I do have my trusty, whip-braided zipper pull and snake shoes... and do you know why I love snake shoes? Because I. hate. snakes.

I don't blame you for wanting to be him. Who wouldn't want Sean Connery as a dad?

    I KNOW THIS INSPIRATION.

This look is a 10! I love that map bag with your entire wardrobe. Great juxtaposition of the pumps with the moto vest. Love the orange!

Love this outfit - it has alot of texture which I really find appealing and I soooooooo love that map handbag. Does it show Indiana on it?

Another great look! I am having so much fun with your "manspiration" looks - especially since I've actually been able to guess the last couple of them.

LOVE the outfit! And I love the clue too!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Woohoo! I was hoping I made this one easier, after I picked someone so obscure for yesterday's post. I forget that not everyone grew up on the weird movies I did.

    dianthus, amen to that!

Shannon, as Sean Connery would say, "Indiana is the dog's name!" lol

Angie, my pumps have been very useful this month for just that reason - I'm glad I finally figured out which of mine do NOT create blisters.

Rae, hope you are "crackin' the whip" at the office today!!

    You clever girl!

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

Heh, you beat me to it, rae! I was going to say "You named yourself after the dog!"

    Love this outfit!!

Rae, you are so rocking this --- forget keeping up with the Jones, you really hit paydirt with this combo! FANTASTIC outfit, in both senses.

  • harmonica replied 11 years ago

Love this outfit and those shoes!!!! I'm inspired to put a pair of snakeskin pumps on my wish list!

  • Julie replied 11 years ago

Your Manspiration month certainly hasn't had a "Short Run".

  • Diana replied 11 years ago

Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?

Better to have them on your feet than under your feet, right? The map bag is SO PERFECT for this inspiration! It belongs in a museum.

(Ha, time was I could quote these movies line by line...)

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

You look great (those are fabulous shoes), but you do need a hat!

  • cciele replied 11 years ago

Yes, how perfect is that bag! Love it. No hiding in refrigerators for you!

  • Sylvie replied 11 years ago

I must be a little weird too because I've seen yesterday's movie but not today's. :) Got the reference though since it's such a pervasive part of pop culture. Today's interpretation is spot-on as I think it could be guessed even without the written clues.

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

I would totally write "I love you" on my eyelids for this whipslinger, even if I do like snakes.

    I adore this.outfit. i think i need a map print bag now.

  • Katiepea replied 11 years ago

Oh, brilliant, I love this one! You look wonderful and given I hate snakes too, I especially love the shoes!

In fact, the only problem I have now, is that the main theme song is stuck in my head.

    "Dum-de-Dum- DUM;
    Dum-de-DUUUMMMMMMM....."

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

The snake shoes as well as the map bag go together splendidly, and they really do reflect this Harrison Ford character! Thank you for doing one that us non-comic readers could figure out. :-o

(Or at least, those of us who stopped reading comics in the 60s.)

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    Yay for blister free pumps!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Ohh this is super Rae! I love all the elements together, such fab juxtapositions. I am enjoying your manspiration outfits with dresses/skirts immensely.

(Amusing side note, the M's did a commercial this year with Ichiro doing an "impression" from your insp. series and his "We named the dog Indiana" is quite comical ^^)
