On a Pale Horse(shoe)

Back in the saddle wearing my True Religions (with signature horseshoe pockets) yet again. This time I paired them with a darker top, because I wanted to be cool yet covered for the impending in-between weather. Finished with my old banking bag and Hawaiian Heritage jewelry in honor of my mom. The first is a necklace that spells LOVE in cutouts, and the second is actually Mom's wedding ring, handed down after the divorce.

We had great weather and great food today! We ate at the restaurant where my sister works, and she recommended all the tastiest things. Thank goodness this linen sweater was another $1 flea market orphan, because I promptly splattered it with some oily pasta sauce at my mom's birthday lunch.  Sigh... the important thing is that the white jeans are ok. Oh, and that Mom had a good time on her birthday. ;)

Allsaints linen sweater - $1 at flea market
Studded belt - flea market
True Religion "Cameron" jeans - Ebay
Cognac bag - Ebay
Report "Marks" booties - Amazon
Hawaiian jewelry - gifts from Mom

Wow! you look stellar Rae :) I love the rich tans and gold in your accessories against the white backdrop of your jeans. I'm glad they escaped the splashes even though your sweater didn't. Hopefully it will come good as new.  YLF!

Love this! The white jeans with the linen sweater is excellent.

OMG this looks just so good. And BTW I LOVE the new you!

This outfit is  casual, chic and also powerfully sexy in a very quiet way. The jeans do it for the most part, with their nonchalant cut and buttery tone, but the genius has been to add this soft colour and soft looking sweater showing just enough cleavage yet looking "everyday"; then the carefully chosen impeccable details  including gold bring up the whole ensemble up a notch. Hairstyle is part of it too, but can't quite put my finger on how. Anyway it's a winning outfit.

Love this! I think you need to figure out how to clean that sweater!

This looks so good -- can't believe you find such great bargains but it's so fun seeing them. Another perfect muted color palette - seems to be a trend today and recently on YLF. Now I want to go change from these baggy olive pants.

You look terrific!  Too bad about the sweater because it looks so fab on you. And I love the sentimental jewelry.

Oh I hope that oily stain comes out of your sweater 'cause it's gorgeous on you! And love the darker top with those amazing jeans. Looking good girl!

Behold a Pale Horse is a thought-provoking book, were you alluding to it? I like the sweater a lot, hope it survived, and your color palette. You bring a lot of pizzazz to so-called "neutrals" .

The sweater and white jeans look great on you.  I hope the stain launders out.  I like the lighter boots and belt with the white bottoms.  On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony?  I used to read a lot of his books.

You look like a million bucks. I love the jewelry on you. Especially the necklaces seems atypical but really suits you.

Thank you, everyone. I am glad the white jeans continue to provide new outfits; I was afraid they'd go with the heather tank and that's it at first.

Krishnidoux, that is a lovely description! It is a great feeling when you hear what others think and you're totally good with all of it. :)

Julie and Sara, I actually did read the Piers Anthony book, but I was more just alluding to the general notion of the pale horse as the mount of Death, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse (I think that's where Anthony was going with the title, since the book is about Death). Loosely... the world must be ending, because I'm looooving these white jeans I thought I'd never wear!

I love the simplicity of this. Everything fits just perfectly. You look amazing, Rae!

Oh WOW. You continue to amaze me Rae. Such fab nonchalance and deceptive simplicity (like, oh this? I just threw this on *shrug*). Krish is right. And those jeans just drive home the importance of finding the perfect pair! The gorgeous bag doesn't hurt this look either. Try Ivory liquid on your stain. Hopefully the sweater will live on!

I don't know why but I love what the bag does to the outfit. I think it lifts the gray. I love this neckline on you. If I had a gray v-neck sweater I'd totally copy!

So many people here rocking the white!  You are beautiful in this outfit, Rae.

Your style is very near and dear to me ... I am wearing something similar today!  You look pretty and also a bit rugged -- a perfect Rae look.  Pretty tomboy.  (Hope you don't mind the "P" word...)
