(Plain White) Tee Time

Two casual outfits from yesterday, worn for errands (read: returns) in #1 and for dinner with the sister in #2. I have taken the wise YLF advice and brought the bomber in for increased use. I'm glad it is having a second round of time in the sun.

Both outfits focus on black, white, and gray with a pop of grit, brought about by the distressed boots. Yes, I finally decided to keep them, after all my stressing over my moniker yesterday. They are still more refined and less clunky than my other engineer boots, and I just love the finish. I guess sometimes it is good to take a cue from the intuitive ladies here and go with what is calling...

Linen tees - Madewell
Olivia Moon skirt - Rack
Vintage Shoe Company boots - Planet Shoes
Denim bomber - Japan
Kut MIA skinnies - Nordstrom (gratis)
Brahmin bag - Nordstrom

I love both looks on you Rae. I just love the way it looks relaxed but not messy. I have not been able to pull that look off  well so I will just admire how you do it.  I especially like the purse and skirt's complementary stripes.

Lovely.  The boots look perfect on you.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

    Adorable!!

And, may I just say....it is NO FAIR that at the same height, YOU can wear mid calf boots with a pencil skirt, and I, transparently, cannot.  Grrrr.  :-(

Looks good -- your hair is looking good too!

Both looks are great. Good call on keeping the boots.

Great bag! I'm glad you're keeping the boots. I've liked your hair in all its many styles, before and since the big cut. It's looking really good right now.

If anyone on YLF can rock a plain white tee, it's you Rae.  What great style.

  • tayleigh replied 10 years ago

Both are lovely! I especially like the second outfit. You look so relaxed but put together.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

That is the perfect drapey white t!  Glad you kept the boots.

Just love your style Rae.  And that bag.  Ohhhhh, that bag .......

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

    Utterly charming.

Yay! So glad the boots stay...! They add a whole other dimension to the polished-casual pencil skirt outfit. As does your hair.

    FAB!

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

I'm a little lost for words because these outfits look SO FAB!

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

The boots are freaking awesome and give both of these outfits super powers!

  • deb replied 10 years ago

#1 is so cute and I love the skirt with the tee and boots.

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

Love the boots and the simple white tee (which I find totally elusive!) You look amazing, Rae!

  • JulieJohn replied 10 years ago

Glad you kept the boots, that finish is so unique. You rock a simple white tee like nobody's bidness. Bomber = hai!

I can't wear boots above 60 degrees, but I sure like them paired with Summer items on you -- and I think these particular boots are very interesting and flattering!

    Hair is looking great!

Whoo hoo! Let's hear it for a midi with mid calf boots! One of my favourite combinations - even for us "vertically challenged" - lol!

Both of these outfits are perfectly YOU :)

  • Adelfa replied 10 years ago

These are wonderful.  Your best outfits (which is to say, about 95% of them) achieve this synergy between the individual fab items that I hope to be able to achieve someday. And I'm shopping for a drapey tee!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Hai! LOL, Julie, that was great!

Suz, I'm surprised to hear mid-calf boots don't work for you with midis. Must be something about the combo that is similar to the tall boot problem... that's all I can think of since Shannon rocks the look too *waving at Shannon.*

Day Vies, thank you! Rest assured, "relaxed but not messy" was the hardest vibe for me to figure out, so I'm extra happy that is what you see.

Adelfa, a great drapey tee was one of the hardest items for me to find. Good hunting, and don't give up... they are out there.

Very glad the boots are getting some love. They blow Frye away for comfort (at least for my feet). Going to have to keep the brand on my radar for the future.

Love both the outfits on you...everything perfect! Outfit #1 is very nice...love that striped skirt and striped bag combo!

Glad you kept the boots- these both look great!

  • Scarlet replied 10 years ago

Adorable as ever. I especially like skirt with that top.

    Both looks are absolutely stellar!

These outfits are super classy! Love it. I think I need a linen T-shirt!
