Romantic Warrior Princess

Anticipating much more running about during the rest of NAS, I broke down and bought a cardigan... Much less warn than my blazers. Worn with a luxe lace shell from MaryK back at our first swap part, calf hair booties dark jeans, ans silver bling.

And of course the star of the show: my Tim Burton striped Brahmin. :-D

Good grief, the bag, the bag!
I would buy everything from you if you were my SA. You look amazing.

You look gorgeous, Rae! I'm loving each of your outfits even more than the last lately!

Romantic warrior princess with a killer bag!

The shape and weight of the cardi will make it very practical and versatile in your wardrobe.  It conforms nicely to your shape, but doesn't take away from what you're wearing under it .

    And the bag..........must........look.........away.......

Dying of happiness--you are a vision of loveliness! Love the pretty top, and THAT BAG!!!

I love that you described it as "Tim Burton striped" - I use that phrase too, and it's one of my favorites print/color combos!

Anyway, I did manage to peel my eyes off your purse and look at the rest of you, and your outfit is so nice! Simple, but not boring, chic, but not fussy.  I'm also going to use this as a lesson in combining black and brown. Black is my neutral. Brown... not so much. But maybe by learning to mix them, I won't have to let so many otherwise nice brown pieces escape. Anyway, I think this is basically an outfit 10. :)

You look AhMAZing!!!  Love everything about this, Rae.  You are a vision of cool sophistication with a touch of warrior. Loving it!!

    Gorgeous! KILLER bag!

You are leaving a little UWP behind in this leg of your style journey. Don't faint!!!! But you're adding a more refined and ladylike element to your style. Does that strike you too?

I like the shape and length of that cardi on you Rae - it still looks kind of "jacket-ish", you know?

And I think even a potato sack would look stunning if worn with that handbag :)

SO FUN to see the lace shell with The Precious!!  I swear, you look more fab each and every day!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Thank you, ladies! I'm glad the cardi passes muster and doesn't look like Something I Bought Out Of Desperation... even though it is.

Angie, you are right, of course. I feel it, too - in the shoe shapes, the bag shapes, some color and jewelry choices. It's more appropriate for my department (rips and distressing are no-nos with my management), but I also feel more grown up. :)

There you have it, Rae! We are forever adapting our style to our changing needs. Isn't our style journey fun :) xo

Wow! What a fab bag and killer outfit all together.

  • Adelfa replied 10 years ago

Yes, definitely more refined and ladylike. I need a black cardi too--you give me hope that I can find one that's not blah.

  • replied 10 years ago

The outfit strikes me as slightly bohemian. That could just be me though. THAT BAG is freaking amazing.

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

It is nice to see a fitted silhouette.  Great outfit and it must be hard to put the bag aside for work... don't you want to carry it around with you at all times?

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Adelfa, this is a $25 Jessica Howard from Macy's. :)

Angie, it is fun! Keeps me on my toes.

Denise, I seriously did have the thought that I should not wear it to work... But if others leave their Marc Jacobs I decided I was ok.

Beautiful Rae. I am so enjoying this leg of your style journey. To my eye this is elegant and sophisticated with edge. Your hair is looking amazing. The simplicity and the lovely slim line is just gorgeous.

  • Mochi replied 10 years ago

Yes, rae. You look you-er and you-er all the time. Gorgeous.

I like black and brown. I like the top and the necklace together. And of course I love the bag.
