Rough Retailer

I am continuing on with my efforts to bring my favorite rugged elements to the workplace while still editing outfits down to a more classic feel. Allsaints denim jacket with Hugo Boss seasonless wool trousers, Brochu Walker silk tee from the flea market with Rich & Skinny rust jeans and huarache sandals. I'm wondering if maybe I just don't like color as much right now?

I like both these outfits and think you look great. I go through phases where I'm not that interesting in color too.  I think it's just part of where you are right now.

These are both beautiful and rich outfits! I think you are succeeding brilliantly in your mission.

I dunno, that green dress you just wore the other day was bright and colorful and spectacular!

This looks great too. Now I want a map bag. :-D

Hey, are you really allowed to wear huaraches to work?

I like the richness of the teal and rust together.  Photo 4 is interesting:  you're coming at us right through the screen!  Nails look nice!  : )

I'm stuck on the bag. LOVE it.

All of this hurache love - I was a hurache girl once upon a time!

I think you look fabulous Rae. I'm glad you're figuring out a "blended" style that works for you and work.

Love the map bag! The rest of your outfit looks fab too.

Well, I also swing between color and neutrals on a regular basic (it was a black and white day today) so I can understand this really well.
I like the both outfits but the first one with trousers has my heart: I really must be off skinnies at the moment and prefer trousers every time. I think these trousers look very elegant on you together with the rough denim jacket.

I swing between colour and neutrals all the time! Daily :)

I LOVE the first outfit more because I am digging the new sophisticated Rae!

So fab! I like both outfits a lot, but I think the bag wins out over all!

If this is classic - then I'm all for it! Quite honestly, I am really enjoying the new direction your style has taken. You are looking amazing these days, and while I realize it's a bit of a condundrum to re-configure your style for the new workplace - you have come up with something that's ten times better than "the usual" if that makes sense. Better than classic, and better than UWP/casual-ish. There is something very special and fab going on here, and I really like it.

I can't quite put my finger on it (in terms of describing your new style), but I can say that I definitely think it's something requiring special YLF crash helmets, smelling salts and the like. For the past several weeks (maybe months now), every time I look at one of your outfits posts, I am *wowed*.

While it's true that your style might be moving in a bit of a different direction - it's *also* true that you are looking like a million bucks these days. The new 'polished' UWP/classic you is better than ever.

    Jaw-droppingly fabulous.

I think outfit #1 fits the bill for your mix of rugged/classic for work perfectly. Outfit #2 is nice too but I prefer 1. That bag is fantastic.

FWIW I love your muted  colour palette and I think you have forged great looks for work which still show your personality. That bag is fab also :)

I'm so impressed with how you are figuring out how to work your current items into your new job and dressing requirements. These both look fabulous Rae.

I know these aren't examples of the way you would really like to dress but you look absolutely stunning Rae!  Even though your UWP style is the complete opposite of me I find that I often really admire som the items in your outfits and could see them in mine.  That map bag has always been a favourite.
