Wore all white to get my hair cut at the Vidal Sassoon Academy today.

My stylist is actually a very seasoned dude who used to cut for Paul Mitchell and also currently cuts at the Vidal Sassoon salon in Beverly Hills. He is actually training to be an instructor! He was super duper nice, and I hope they "vote him in" or however the instructor selection process goes. 

I have to say I am a little sad to see the length go. But apparently this is going to grow into a bob, whereas what I had before would grow into a mullet. I kinda see the truth of this since the hair in back starts very low on my neck. By the time the front is the length I want, the back should be the same or very close.

    PERFECTION.  I can see where it's headed, but it is also no longer a "growing out cut" but a cut in its own right.

    It looks great, Rae! And he was absolutely right - if you want a bob and your hairline is low in the back, this is the only way. I have gone through this process numerous times and this has been my "grow-out" clip of choice!

    Gorgeous! (Of course.)  Can you go back to him for future cuts?  He should love the fact that you are in retail.  When I did the hair model thing, it was really helpful to my cutter that I was in retail because it gave me a lot of opportunities to refer people to her.  "I love your hair!" Bingo! "I get it cut by so-and-so and he's/she's awesome!"  

    Your cut is beautiful on you and I think it will make it much much easier to grow out.  I bet you get tons of compliments on it.

    Rae!  This is great!  It actually looks like a real hairstyle, rather than just hair that is "growing out."  Love it!  And your outfit today is super fab.  Are those the TR Camerons?

    Glossy dark hair against the all-white is briliant!  I love the new shape.

    Your hair is memorable not primarily for it's shape or style, but for its glossy shine and movement that is palpable even in still photos.  That means you don't have to wait to grow into a style you like better to have stunning locks!  You're already there!

    Aw, you guys are the best. It is so nice to check in here and see the lovely comments, especially since I've been down about it all day. DH tried but couldn't hide his disappointment in how visibly shorter it is. I wish time could just speed along!

    Woo-hoo! Great cut. I would say it even have the bob-vibe in the front already.

    Plus calm DH down: Angie is right when saying it will be bob in no time. (I'd say 4 months! That's what took me to grown into a bob last time I cut it super short and my hair growns painfully slow IMO.)

    Rae, this is a beautiful hairstyle for you! The silhouette is very pleasing with it, and the way you are wearing it here, with a high contrast in colour, makes it even more vibrant. Don't worry about the length, this looks fantastic now, and it will look fantastic as it grows too.

    I think the stylist did a great job (and I was not really big on the idea) - it looks like it has a nice shape to grow into what you want. I agree that it seems like your hair grows pretty fast so it shouldn't take long to get some length back with this new shape.

    You look fantastic in all white with your super shiny pretty hair!

    I love your all white outfit - I would totally copy this if possible right now (not possible since I can't do the slouchy, half tuck and it's waaaayyy too hot for boots).  I love your haircut and think it looks really good right now, and hopefully will also look good as it grows out.

    I was going back through some of the posts that I commented on, and saw your earlier post about whether you should get the cut. I was about to ask you what you decided on that thread, then thought to check your other posts to see if you mentioned it again.

    And, yes! I'm so glad you took the gamble. Your hair is very cute. :-)
