Sickey-face goes back to work, plus a new outfit game

  1. How I felt at work today.
  2. How I hope I looked to others. But didn't. My manager asked me repeatedly if I needed to go home, but I was silly and stuck it out. 
  3. My new game: laying out my outfits and uploading the pic to Google Images, checking out what pops up as Visually Similar
  4. - 8. Results! Construction, a Polish-Jewish hero, headquarters to a Japanese advertising company, "German Castle" in the Bahamas (? from my Googling, I think that's what that is: an abandoned home nicknamed the German Castle), aaaand... smokey destruction of some kind. 
And that's all the brainpower I have left for tonight - as you can see, I'm a little bit loopy from the sinus pressure. o_0 Glad to have another scheduled day off tomorrow.

    Sorry you are unwell Rae!
    Bright colours might be the order of the day when you return to work- at least they might Google happy and more pleasant images.

    Ha, the pictures say "postapocalyptic architectural" to me, which isn't too bad of an outfit descriptor, actually.  I like the color combo!

    Fun new game!  How do you do it?  Need an app?
     Did you upload your outfit or your sickie face, 'cause some of those photos may be capturing your feelings.  Hope you are feeling much better.

    Deb, I'm pretty sure I do. Going to the doctor this afternoon. I always get a killer one this time of year. :(

    Joy and Pil, for the game, there is no app., just Google Images! I had been thinking about our past YLF outfit challenges using photos/works of art, and I thought it'd be interesting reverse that and see what my outfit inspired the internet to do... I only uploaded pic #3, because I didn't want any background elements influencing the search engine - just the clothes. 

    Diana, I totally agree. Post-apocalyptic and Urban influences are huge for UWP, and I'm actually pretty impressed that the image results were so apt for my style descriptors. I could see them fit 00Noir, too, what with the international intrigue and all.

    Diana, that is awesome! I followed your lead by chopping off my head did some more outfits. 

    1-2: Twilight poster, oil portrait of some historical military dude, wooden furniture, and (!) animated warrior woman. Earthy Renaissance Warrior Vamp?

    3-4: Gandalf, sniper, galaxy, dilapidated Russian building, horror movie still. Intergalactic Fantasy Superspy? :P

    This is fun... gotta keep going with this experiment for a while.

    Ok your outfit looks good. I am going to chide you for going to work sick. You just exposed your coworkers and customers, not cool.

    Anna:

    • I stayed home two days during one of our busiest times, while short-staffed 3 people.  
    • We have other coworkers who have been working with lingering coughs or stuffy noses and not complaining. 
    • Everyone with kids said the guideline is to keep them home until 24 fever-free hours have passed, and I did follow that guideline, much to my monetary detriment. 
    • I do not have any paid time off yet, and I do not share funds with my husband, so this job is my only source of income, and this is one of the highest-selling times of the year. I already gave up multiple time-sensitive sales appointments to other stylists because of the cold. 
    • Most colds are contagious before symptoms onset and I would have exposed my coworkers already.
    • And sinus infections don't spread the same way as cold of the flu, plus can take over 2 weeks to clear. I get the same thing every year... a short cold that passes in 1-2 days but causes my sinuses to get infected and take around 2 weeks to clear up completely. If any one is ready to buy me a 2 week vacation for the common good, I would gladly jump at the chance...
