Sporty Staycation Silliness

DH and I drove down to hike in an area we had not visited in a long while and ended up taking photos like tourists who had never seen the ocean before! I hardly ever say this, but being there just made me happy. :)

I wore my new-to-me Karma active harem pants, my go-to orange puffer from Shoptoberfest (which has a great inner pocket that all my other acivewear items lack), and military cap. I enjoyed using the harem pants as an alternative to leggins - not only do they feel more current and less gearish, but they also breathe better and don't put the goods on display like workout leggings do.

Now, one of these days, I will need to address my shoe situation. I think I should probably get some nice, rugged, proper hiking boots if I am to continue scrabbling over loose rocks in my spare time. Plus, you know, they will bookend the hat...

Bonus pics of DH, the views, some cool textures, and a concrete rock spreading some love along the coast. <3

I'm relocating to LA in 5 (gulp) months. It is pics like this that are making it less terrifying. Thanks!

This is an amazing series which captures your inner and outer style and besides your beautiful and sweet, adorable self, you have a very handsome husband. Love these ocean views and the precious heart-shaped rock. What a great time!

The ocean is such a healing place. I go every chance I get and I am so glad you are close to it also. Wonderful pictures!!!

That's some really strong photography there. And I love the unconventional hiking outfit.

I too am on the hunt for new walking shoes, mine are very worn out but because I'm not finding anything I like I'm still wearing them.

How far is LA far from San Fransisco?

OMG gorgeous! Love your blouse-y active pants and I've always loved you in orange. That spot reminds me of your wedding photos. Denise is right, your photography is amazing. The eroded rock is so inspiring. Now that's the type of photograph I'd like to see turned into a modern print! Love the <3 shaped rock too. :)

I lived in LA (well, Arcadia and Alhambra) for 4 years in my 20's. One day we took some friends to photograph and traveled up Highway 2 though the San Bernadino mountains, to the High Desert, and then the beach at Malibu in 8 hours. Pure tourista, and wonderful memories. The wonders of Creation can bring joy to the heart and a smile to the face!

Your outfit also brings a smile to the face (mine). Love the energy and fashion forward quality of your "gear" ensembles. And I think a pair of great hiking boots are definitely in order.

You look wonderfully happy, what great shots :)

  • Sarah A replied 11 years ago

Love the energy! You smile is contagious and the outfit is (of course) great. I can hear the ocean just seeing your amazing pics. Thanks for sharing--it has brought me contentedness this AM.

I love your beautiful photos. I've found a few hearts out in the wild and have taken pics of them too. :)

What a great outfit. Finding the balance between stylish/visually pleasing and practical for an active lifestyle can be tricky, but you do it amazingly well. Gorgeous girl!
