Subdued Superhero

I think this outfit looks a little better IRL... Or is that just an excuse, lol?

In any event, something about the boots, skinnies, flowy top, and emblematic belt makes me feel like I've stepped out of a b/w comic. In a good way. I also got a compliment on my rear, which is... Better than a criticism. :-)

The taupe boots are more visible in this light, but I have also attached a close up.

Draped tee - unbranded $1 flea market find

Oh my goodness, I love this! I have to make a T like that. Love this so much.

Ceit, it would be super easy to make! I will post a pic of what it looks like laid flat when I get home.

I think the outfit looks great, totally super-hero worthy.  love how well all the acessories play together.

Gosh Rae, you're killing it here. Did you do the draping of the tee yourself? Love the combination of colors - and the belt and boots are gorgeous.

    Thanks Rae!

Nothing subdues about this. You look great.

    Stupendous!

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

I bet the draping on the tee is even more interesting IRL.  You look great!

What a great look! That draped tee is fabulous... and only a buck? I can hardly believe it. Sounds as if you have some amazing flea markets out by you. Nothing like that in Connecticut. Love your boots.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Wow, this is so subtle and so gorgeous. You look fantastic in the draped tee, and I am dying over those boots. Also love the belt. Everything is so harmonious.

  • replied 10 years ago

Very understated and luxe. The belt, bag and boots steal the show. Love it!

That tee is awesome! I totally want to see how it's made. Maybe you can bring it to the OC meetup. ;-)

    You look fantastic.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

You look great - the tee really makes it!

Love the Superhero look.  Strong and simple.

    I like!!
I go nuts when Tees get all twisted, you know when the side seam is near your navel.  This Tee shows how to be twisted!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Love it too - and looking forward to the laid-flat pic :)

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

This is fantastic on you. Comic-con elegance.

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

It looks like some ironkurtin would wear. I hope that's a compliment.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Ceit, here is what it looks like laid out flat. If I had a serger, I'd consider making another one myself!

  • jurocha replied 10 years ago

I am saving this link in my favorites; maybe my seamtress can copy this T-shirt from the flat pic!

You look gorgeous! (Not only this outfit, but also the indie bob!)

  • Mrs Moo replied 10 years ago

Rae, like everyone else I am super in love with this top! I am studying the pic and am going to have a go with making a template! (when I get a spare few hours of course...perhaps after Christmas ;) )

Can I just ask though, are you wearing a cami poking out from underneath in the picture or is the more ruched bit by your left arm all part of how the top lies?

  • replied 10 years ago

You look great; very superhero-like :) I'm very intrigued by the flat shape of that tee, so unusual.

  • replied 10 years ago

Thanks Rae! I need to experiment with this now :) is the left square side sewn up to almost the top to make an arm opening?

  • AnnieMouse replied 10 years ago

    Fashion superheroine, for sure.

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago

I can see why you said superhero (and why you got the compliment) - you look fantastic and what an interesting tee!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

I had missed the latest questions... MM, I am not wearing a cami, and Ceit I think you are correct. The one armhole comes from one side not being sewn all the way closed.
