Urban Warrior Mermaid

That's how this outfit made me feel, anyway!

Sorry for yet another mirror pic - my complex is redoing the floors on a vacant unit, and my photo alley is taken up with trucks and lumber. At least the blazing sun has provided sufficient indoor light.

The weather channel informed me that today's "Real Feel" temperature would be 95-degrees F, so I knew I had to wear something breezy for when I left my air conditioned workplace. Chose a $1 bemberg dress I cut into a hi-lo hem last summer and paired it with my unlined Ella Moss moto. Went for girly heels and necklace since the jacket and dress created a lot of volume and not much shape. The watery colors and long "tail" of the dress made me feel like a mermaid or sea nymph -- which is something I don't say often, let me tell you!

Ella Moss moto - Nordies
Necklace - Rack
Dress - $1 DIY from flea market
Jessica Simpson wedges - Marshall's
Ted Baker white patent bag (not pictured) - flea market

You are such a cutie!  I love the combination of blue dress with the pinkish shoe.  Delightful little pop of colour on your feet.

Great heat-beating look, Rae.  Love this version of the hi-low --- a very pleasing length!

Very pretty and flowy. Not what I expected!

I don't find many high-low skirts I like but I like this one. Nice breezy outfit for a scorching day!
I wonder if there are any  Mermaid Warriors out there? :-)

Very nice! I like the high-low with the moto!

Edgy and lady like! Love that moto on you Rae. This outfit is fab, a little more "girly" than your usual.

I agree with Deborah, edgy and ladylike  :) I really like it!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Hehe, thanks! I never thought I'd be called ladylike!

The dress is so pretty and so ladylike with the pumps, but the moto adds a definite edge.  You look terrific!

    LOVE!

Very nice Rae. It looks ladylike but with Rae-edge. As soon as I saw the title of your post, "Under the Sea" popped in my head.

    I like that: UWM!

I love this. So feminine & pretty. I love you in your tough outfits but I love you in this too! I also loved you in your boots & trench. Those boots were less tough than you usually wear. You reminded me of agent 99 in Get Smart or something.

Oh wow, I'm seeing a whole new side of you here. Still tough and strong, but a little more "in touch with your feminine side" --which has a strength all it's own. Stellar!

My eyes don't know where to go. They love everything. Haha. I want to steal everything and cackle over the pile of awesomeness.
