Waist Surrendered, Legs Deployed

And sunlight almost missed! But I eeked out a barely-passable outfit photo to share.

I really liked this outfit - it felt like a distant cousin of the dropped-waist flapper dress - but I don't think it comes across well in the photo. The linen top is very light, and movement helps the lines of my body show through so I'm not such a brick house IRL. I got some compliments, too, so it can't be all in my head!

Brochu walker top - $1 at flea market
Anthropologie dress - Anthro
Report Marks booties - Amazon
Nine West bag - flea market
Chain mail watch - gift commissioned by a friend (the watch face was an old one of hers, and she had her chainmail-artist then-boyfriend make me a strap out of sterling silver rings).

I love that top!!! I see no brick house, but then I'm all over the waist surrender thing myself. This one has a gorgeous cut. And it's so fab with the dress's pattern. Pretty watch, too.

Woot!  Love the legs and waist surrender.  Super-awesomeness.

haha - surrender the wait, deploy the legs!  But it totally works!

I love that skirt, and, by pairing it with the navy top, it shines!!  I hear you on the linen sweater and movement -- sounds perfect!

Love everything about this outfit and you are the queen of layering over a dress. I think the top with this "faux skirt" is just brilliant. Adore the proportions and the color combo. The boots and the watch are the perfect finishing touches.

I love the pattern in your dress, and the top looks fantastic with it. No brick house in sight (but now I've got the song stuck in my head, thank you very much)!
