Batting for Team Wear today, wearing an old knit linen top with my new cat necklace from Shoptoberfest and my new Joie silk pants from The Rack (in honor of some good news. Wearing this to Dress for Success, where the weather is slated to hit 93 degrees! Beyond happy to approximate a Fall look while still sweating away to Summer temperatures.

So fun! I'm glad for your sake that these pants are warm climate-friendly! It was a scorcher yesterday!

KILLMENOW! I am doing a happy dance that you are keeping these pants, and look how easily and perfectly you've styled them. Slouchy pants Shoptoberfest high five!

  • kellygirl replied 11 years ago

That's right! You are no slouch! Love these pants on you. The whole outfit is just perfect :)

This is a stunning outfit on you Rae - those pants are AMAZING! Rock on gorgeous one!

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Just to add, the way we found these pants proves that logging in the shopping hours is necessary - they were such a last minute find, right next to those red leather sheath dresses as we were trying to get out of the store. :) Combing and re-combing the racks pays off!

I didn't have a chance to post on the other thread, but I love those pants, and you've styled them beautifully with the belt and the half-tucked top.

    You look terrific!

WOW. These are my favorite slouchy pants I've seen on anyone anywhere ever! Amazing on you.

Yay! So happy for you about the job. Also I LOVE this outfit! So sleek and right on trend. Beautiful colors and drape. Wow!

LOVE! This looks fabulous on you, Rae. And I love how every piece came from such a different home..from mail order to the mall to a flea market. Great look!

Sweet! (Not cool because we're expanding our vocabulary here)

Love the pants and how you've styled them here. So glad you kept them. Kitty is a nice addition, too.

Love this Rae! One of my favourite outfits that you've posted. The drape of the clothes, the colours, everything comes together so beautifully!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

LOVE! But you know that :) You guys, I cannot even tell you how much more amazing even these pants look in person. I am SO glad you are able to keep them, Rae!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

These look amazing on you. Would you say this is a slight departure for you?

  • rae replied 11 years ago

A new crop of volunteers took a tour of the Dress for Success boutique today, and no less than three people commented on my pants as soon as they came in - woah! This is a style departure for me - but dang if that is the departure, I can't wait to see what is waiting at the arrival gate!

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

That's so great! I don't always trust my judgment, but all my senseless rooting around in the mud sometimes results in a truffle. :) I think these are a spin on your style in the best way - a little more refined but still hip and oh-so-nonchalant. They were meant to be! The jade blazer is another piece like that, just more in line with your usual picks to my eye.

I was really impressed by how PPP your shopping style is and by your ability to walk away from the almost-perfect or the overpriced (I'm looking at you, swap meet pleather jacket!)...

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

How interesting that you feel it's a bit of a style departure! They seem very "Rae" to me: Slouchy? Check! Print? Check! Moody rich colors? Check! Heat appropriate fabric? Check! Works with boots? Check! I'm curious, what is it about them that feels different, the slightly 80s vibe?

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    KILLER

    :)

  • Carole replied 11 years ago

Such a great outfit, the colors are spectacular for you and I love your pendant! Meow!!!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Aida, I think you are onto something with the 80's vibe. I've done baggy pants since high school, but something about being slouchy, tapered, and non-denim always made me hesitate.

I feel like the softness, and the way these drape to still show where my shape is, made these feel more right than other versions.
