WIW: Blaze(r) of Glory T-2

Only half a week to go! My last day is the 15th, so I am at T-2 days and counting!

Not really wearing a favorite outfit today, because it has gotten so darn hot that it seems like our office A/C cannot keep up, and most of my favorites from this year were worn over the Winter. Instead, I have my very favorite citron top, which is looking a bit worse for wear if you look closely. It was been with me since my earlier days at The Other Bank. The skirt is one of my scores from the last YLF Swap Party, and I thought it deserved at least one office outing before I start styling it in a more gothic way for F/W.

Bonus pic of ombre nails! My second try at this, but I really like it!

I admire anyone who can paint their nails well enough that they look presentable to the world. Yours would be, by my standards, something around a work of art. Yeah, I'm hopeless when it comes to manicure, but yours really do look great! :)

    I like the outfit too!

Very nice, Rae. You have a special outfit all picked out for your final strut through the bank?

  • sarah replied 11 years ago

I always love you in citron - and it's so pretty with that skirt.

I will forever associate citron with Rae - it is such a fab colour on you! And your nails look gorgeous!

Great outfit! Love the colour on you. And your nails are spectacular!

    LOVE the manicure! Such fun!

And of course you rock citron, black and white like nobody else!

  • Lisa replied 11 years ago

That's a really fun print on the skirt. And I second MaryK, you really can rock that citron color!

You look great in this outfit! Love the citron on you. Your nails look so cool! Did you do that yourself?

  • Inge replied 11 years ago

You're really counting down now, I'm so excited for you, Rae!!
And you wear that citron shade so well! Love this top with your patterned skirt. I bet your colleagues are going to miss being treated to your fab style every day!
Your ombre manicure is making me smile;-)

Hmmm, I thought that skirt looked familiar! Very cute with the citron top (so sorry it's getting loved to death) and it should lend itself nicely to a goth vibe, too! I can't wait to see what you come up with next. :)

    Nice!

Great to see those pumps again :)

  • replied 11 years ago

I'm with Angie. Those pumps are a very, very nice change. Me likey you in pumps. Citron is so your color. Did you pack up the office or cube yet? I'd be screaming with joy.

Aw, thank you, everyone. It was hard choosing an outfit to do justice to the theme and still stay cool.

The pumps are going to be tossed after this, the patent is peeling off and cracking, and it is a good time. However, you all have convinced me that I need at least one pair of walkable, dressy pumps to wear with skinnies and for dressy events. I have a gift card to shoebuy that I received after doing a survey, so I'll have to take a look.

KathyL, I actually did do the nails myself! The trick turned out to be applying the darkest color first and swiping the lightest color over everything. :)

Zap, I haven't cleaned up yet... don't want to seem too eager, lol!

Cute, what an awesome skirt! I'm glad that citron loves you back as much as you love it, such a great color on you.

Did you use the sponge method for the ombre nails? I've been meaning to try that, though I've been putting off doing a simple half-moon mani that's been in my head for weeks. Hmm maybe I should get on that tonight!

  • replied 11 years ago

I really like the pattern on that skirt. The citron is lovely too. I envy people who can wear nail polish --- it always makes my nails feel like they are pulling so I can't stand it.

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

I am so not a nail polish person but I love your ombre nails!

  • KathyL replied 11 years ago

Very impressed by your manicuring skills! I'll have to post pics of my sister's nails. She did one with a swirling effect with two colors.

  • replied 11 years ago

    What a fun manicure!

  • nicoleb replied 11 years ago

Great nails! Did you use a sponge "technique"?

And i'm obviously behind the times because i had no idea you were quitting your bank job! Are you going to be dressing people like you wanted or something else?

You look great in those colors!
