WIW: Happy When It Rains

Just a quick outfit shot from earlier today, when I was on my way to work. I think I could happily dress like this most of the year, if weather allowed. Plus, I really think my hair looks best styled with an UWP coat. :)

Scottevest hidden pocket trench - Scottevest
Gauze scarf - The Rack
DL 1961 jeans - YLF Swap Party
Gidigio boots - Ebay
Ted Baker messenger - flea market

So perfect for stormy weather ... it's passed us for a few days, going south maybe. We had power outages and all. Love the boots, they are so Rae! I think those DL 1961s were from me. How do they feel?

    The boots! Love, love, love.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

YES! I think they were from you, Denise. I got too large for them when I was stressed and getting ready to leave my old job, but now they fit perfectly. So comfortable for running around on the sales floor all night!

Love the boots and how you've styled them here. Perfect for the coming apocalypse. (OMG! Rain! Half an inch! Shut everything down! Things are flooding! ... Oh, California, I do miss it.)

    Very urban mysterious princess.

I'm glad they are working for you Rae! How are your feet adjusting? Are you getting used to working on your feet.

ETA -- just remembered the Garbage song you are alluding to. The song from the late 90s, I loved that album!

I love this outfit. Full of interesting pieces, but nothing overwhelms the look. Your new photo backdrop is great by the way...

Oooh, love this outfit! You look gorgeous in that trench...love the color on you. And the pose...you look like a superspy. Secret Agent Rae!

Love the boots with this look. So great!

Don't you look fabulous! All UWP and sultry :-)

I am smitten with those boots and the workmanship behind them. Did you get your regular size? Are we the same size? 8.5? but my feet are slightly wide and I think yours are narrow. Either way, what's your recommendation?

You look smashing! And hey, I have some DL1061 jeans, too!

Looks great Rae! Love the colour of that trench on you and of course, THE BOOTS!!!

  • amyreh replied 11 years ago

Love the trench and the boots together!

Wahoo, superspy! That is a fantasy lifestyle I do not mind shopping for.

MNsara, I got my usual size 8.5. I sometimes size down in boots - I have mostly size 8 in Frye, but these fit perfectly, even after a long day at work, which leaves my foot slightly wider and longer. I also have 9" ankles and 14" calves at the largest spot (these hit a little below the widest). Una has a wide foot and went up 1/2 size and is happy with them.

Aren't you way too young for Jesus and Mary Chain? Lol

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Jules, I guess I am! Because I actually had the Garbage song in mind - Shirley Manson in some killer boots and a very post-apocalyptic video.

But I did look up the JAMC version, and I kinda love it! Those guys have awesome hair. :D

  • Jules replied 11 years ago

Ohhhh that makes sense then. I'm pretty stuck in the 80s/early 90s so Garbage (and a million other bands) mostly passed me by... sad but true :)

  • replied 11 years ago

Wait, WHA? Did you get the same boots as Una? That is fantastic.
I think you are queen trench... Loving the outfit!

  • Nadya replied 11 years ago

I thought it was J&M Chain, too! The Darklands album was OUR album when my husband I were dating. Which says something probably disturbing about us.

Rae - I haven't told you yet how much I love your haircut. I LOVE your haircut!
