WIW: Orange, burgundy, and ink (Inspired by Annagybe)

Anna recently posted about pairing orange with burgundy. I loved it so much I wanted to wear my new, orange "Ebay44" dress with my burgundy boots. I could have also worn a burgundy blazer, but it felt too matchy for my mood, and I liked the 3/4 sleeves of this blazer better, anyway.

I keep thinking I should really resell these babies and replace them with a lower heel, but I haven't been able to give them up yet, because no replacement has been forthcoming. If you see any inexpensive ones, please let me know... :T

No pic from yesterday because the net was out at my place, and I wore a repeat outfit to boot.

Bailey44 dress - Ebay
F21 jacket - F21 clearance rack
Perlina handbag - Goodwill
Pendant - flea market
Dolce Vita Jayce boots - Amazon

    KILLER

I love the burgundy boots with the orange frock! I was thinking that your burgundy blazer would look great too - but with brown boots.

That dress looks amazing on you Rae! I agree with not wearing a burgundy blazer, which I do think would have been too matchy and not cool enough for you. xD I really like the burgundy and orange together and it will transition into fall beautifully (although I argue that SoCal doesn't really have a fall). Let me know when you find some awesome boots; I've been looking too!

LOOOOOOOOVE this combination on you Rae!

And there she goes again... ;o)

Awesome! I can see how hard it is to give up those boots.

I love that idea for the burgundy blazer, Angie! Maybe it would even work with my tall lace-ups, if they don't compete with the dress hem.

Jyoti, we may not have a natural Fall some years, but there is always a man-made Fall indoors, it seems. ;) I will definitely post if I find the boots.

Fantastic version of that color combo! And I like Angie's idea of the burgundy blazer with brown boots.

    Super color combination!
This outfit looks terrific on you, Rae.
    Love!

OOOOH...you got the orange B44? We are dress twins yet again (I loved your agate dress so much I copied you)! Love this combo on you...so cool and the color pairing is so fresh. I think I could copy you with my ink blue jacket and chianti Aquatalia boots, but I don't think it would look as good! You're so creative!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

    *waving at twinnie*

I am sure I will be copying YOU left and right once the calendar says it's okay to dress in full Fall colors. I remember oohing and ahhing a lot when you got yours. :)

Calendar, schmalendar...the great thing about this orange dress is you can wear it year round! Push up the sleeves and wear it with sandals and a denim jacket now!

Ooh, now I have to wear it with my stripey b/w bag, too!

  • goldenpig replied 11 years ago

Stripes on stripes! You're going to send matchy matchy me into orbit!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Ooooh LOVE the ink blue added to this color pairing, perfectly moody indeed! Why are we giving up those burgundy beauties??

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Well, they have 5-inch heels - perfectly nice and comfy walking from the car to the office and sitting all day. But since I'm goning to get away from office work and hopefully spend more time at swap meets and trolling stores, they are no longer practical. :(

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Hmm but 4" still works for you yes? Have you looked into having the heels shortened? http://youlookfab.com/2009/10/.....xperiment/

EDIT: I feel your pain on this. I also have gotten rid of all my 5" heels, even though I DO sit most of the day. My 4" heels will probably be coming down to 3.5" soon, too.

  • KathyL replied 11 years ago

FIVE inch heels?!?! wow. I would be dying! Heck, I would be dying with anything over 2 inches. But you look so cute in them ... and the orange dress is great paired with it. Love, love, love! And I love GP's version too.
