WIW: slouchy pants + shift 6, crocs super molded flat

Had a late night shift yesterday, so I got to wear civilian clothes during the day.

#1 is what I *wanted* to wear. I got all dressed up and everything, then looked at the weather forecast - 80! Ok, switched to #2. Wore this out to the Crocs store and the MAC store.

MAC was a great experience, but kind of a bust. I was kind of disappointed, because I'd heard their makeup artists/salespeople were amazing, but we just couldn't seem to find a color of their longwear lipstick that flattered me. It could be my mixed ethnicity skin tone... it took me a very long time to find a foundation/powder to match, too.

Crocs yielded fruit, though! I wore these super molded flats in bronze to work with my BF jeans (sorry, was too tired to snap a pic when I got home), and my feet were the happiest they have been. The only downside, as some pointed out, was that my toes got a bit sweaty. Compared to searing pain, though, that is something I can live with.

After a 7- hour shift, I only felt a weee twinge of something in the big toe... which is actually totally fixable, because the material is easy to stretch if you apply heat! I had already stretched them a bit before work but had clearly underestimated the amount of swelling that would take place. I also got these in black patent.

Ah, there's those awesome slouchy pants again!! Glad to hear you have some relief on the footwear front. It will get better, really.

I am so glad I got to try on those slouchy pants so I don't have to be envious of them. And who knew both of these tops would work with them? Just fantastic looks. I'm on the hunt for a citron sweater now!

Love both outfits! They look gorgeous.

Don't feel too alone with the MAC experience. I love makeup. I buy lots of makeup. I wear lots of makeup. I don't like MAC. Generally (and there are exceptions) I find that their sales people are so focused on the idea that anyone can wear any color if they do it the right way that they forget the sometimes you just want to buy a flattering color that you don't have to fuss with to make it work. I have lots of MAC shadows that I've bought only to find that they don't work well for me at home. And I can't find a MAC foundation that works for me either. I'm pale enough and yellow enough that they just don't match well. I'm also allergic to the sunscreens that every company puts in every foundation. I buy Armani Luminous Silk foundation. Although it is expensive, it is amazing. The color matches my coloring perfectly and it doesn't have sunscreen. So MAC is a total bust for me too. You are not alone!

    Yay!! Happy feet!!

Both #1 and #2 are KILLER.

#1 and #2 both look incredible (of course)! YAY for shoes that give you happy feet (and they're, like, faux studded! how fun ^^), I hope they will continue to work for you.

I am completely in LOVE with number 1, Rae. If I wasn't way taller than you and don't I look good in yellow I would come to L.A. to rob you.

Doing a happy dance for crocs-- I have a pair of their ballerinas but I only wear them as shower shoes because my goofy feet dislike crocs.

You look super cool in both outfits. I totally feel your unseasonably-warm-weather pain. BTW. So frustrating!

I am so happy your poor tootsies are getting some relief!

Glad your feet are happier. If I ever meet you while you're wearing those trousers I will snatch them right off of you. Love both looks.

Great outfits, and hooray for being able to wear civvies in the daylight. I'm so glad the Crocs are working out. That's a huge relief, I'm sure. When my feet hurt, EVERYTHING hurts.

Something about those trousers make you look extra fab, I think it's the color. I adore it with your skintone (take that, MAC).

Those Crocs are really neat looking, and I'm so happy for your feet!

This dorky heat must go, I agree, but at least the sky has been an amazing blue, the mountains so crisp and clear. So it may not feel like fall but it LOOKS like fall! (this major rationalization was brought to you by Pollyanna)
