WIW: Swap Loot Continued - Blue Blazes

Since I went to bed without working on DIYs again, I'll continue to show off my fabulous swap party finds.

Last night, I wore this turquoise striped Bobeau top to go grab turkey burgers with DH. This outfit is vaguely pirate-like, which makes me smile.

Bobeau top - swap party
Sanctuary tuxedo shorts - swap meet
Black belt - swap meet
Report Marks booties - Amazon
B. Makowsky bag - DIY, bag from Ebay

Today I'm sporting this great, cobalt blue knit blazer that was tags-on at the swap. F21 is my favorite jacket source for a reason, and this is no exception to the rule. Love!

F21 blue blazer - swap party
Nexx silk shirt in cruise - Nordstrom
Donna Karan chocolate cashmere midi - swap meet
Leopard calf hair bag - Italian flea market
Snake print pumps - Goodwill

I love your striped top! I like the combination of it with those color shorts! I also love your outfit with the blue blazer. I have a couple of nice blazers from F21. Too bad it's so hard to find things in that store, they do have some nice things if you can find them! It looks like you had some good luck at the swap, too!

Love the turquoise striped tee with the army green shorts - love these colours together. And wow! could that blazer be any better on you??? Gorgeous with the midi.

Hi Rae, love both of your outfits! Can not believe the swap loot. You definitely made out like a pirate with your booty. Love everything! I was thinking of posting a request for help in the forums this morning about shorts... Can I ask you...why are your shorts(which I like very much) called tuxedo shorts?

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

Yay!!! That striped top is so beautifully soft but it just never worked for me -- and you are ROCKING it!!! And OMG the cobalt blazer (which I ordered from F21 and it didn't fit and I didn't manage to return it on time) is just amazing on you!! Love it with the cruise blouse!

The first outfit is the cutest thing I've seen in forever! You got those amazing items at the swap?!? I hope there's going to be a blog post!

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

Adore the first outfit from top to toe! There's a bit of a cheeky newsboy or sailorboy vibe in there which I love.

And that blazer's fab too --- that colour is AWESOME you! Do they have a Nexx shirt in that colour? Wouldn't it be fun to go matchy with that one?

  • Astrid replied 11 years ago

I love your 'pirate' outfit! The turquoise stripes are fantastic with the shorts. The new blazer looks great too.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Melissa, the "tuxedo" element is a self-color stripe that goes up the sides of the shorts. You could also call these "trouser" shorts because of the slant pockets, I think.

MaryK, I did not realize these were yours - how fun to broaden my color range by way of the Color Queen. :)

Manidipa, that is a fab idea! I actually have a cobalt Tahari shirt I thrifted. Whew! Glad I remembered it or you'd have had me tearing off to buy another Nexx blouse right away.

Natalie did a wonderful post on the swap party for anyone who may have missed it:

Form pirate to lady, gotta love it.

I am so relieved to hear you went to bed without DIYing. When I saw your theme for the month, I was intimidated for you. How on earth were you going to come up with a new DIY every single day? Nice to know that you're a) human and b) willing to cut yourself some slack.

Gorgeous outfits on gorgeous Rae! I really dig green+blue, but have not yet seen sky blue + olive like in #1, it's great.

The skirts length and that fab jacket in #2 have me swooning too...

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

And you and Marley are cobalt blazer twins because I ordered the jacket in two sizes and neither of them fit... ;)

  • rae replied 11 years ago

I can see how the sizing thwarted you, MaryK. I can't remember the last time I wore a size M up top, and this one is nice and snug. I guess F21 did not cut for bazooms when they made this jacket.

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

Guess not. I don't think I'm their target market! ;)

  • Kiwichik replied 11 years ago

Ahhhhr me hearty loving the pirate look - that striped top is cool. Love dressed up lady look too.

  • JulieJohn replied 11 years ago

    Beautiful and colorful.

Sky blue with olive is such a weird and wonderful combo. The semi-tuck is yar.

Second outfit looks polished and pretty. I long to see a more edgy version of these items too.

DIY = you ARE doing it! Sometimes just getting ourselves up and motivated to try anything requires a bit of effort, and every effort counts.

Outfit #2 - swoon! What GREAT scores at the swap!

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

You look amazing in both outfits, these have to be some of your best.

And I am very impressed with your swap skillz Rachel. You work fast and know exactly what works. It took me forever, to find, like -- 3 things?!? But I am very happy with them. Have to model them when it cools down, they are all sleeved shirts.

  • April replied 11 years ago

Seems like this was one heck of a swap! Well done, Rae.

  • Victoria replied 11 years ago

Niice! I love your shorts outfit-so sporty and yet trendy. And that bag is awesome. What a great find!

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

ooooooh so lovely ! both of these outfits are perfect! blue blazer with midi is so fab and I love the striped top with army green shorts.

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Both awesome outfits! You know I adore #1, ahhh I want to wear it :D I need to find some longer colorful shorts (since I'm starting to reluctantly admit that we just don't have enough weather to justify adding colorful short shorts *sniffle*), this olive pair always make me smile. #2 is lovely, great proportions and fab moody colors. I am loving that ink blue with the aqua, very fun combo.

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

LOVE that striped top on you, with those awesome shorts! The new jacket is fab too--it has integrated seamlessly into your wardrobe, you thrifting/swapping Expert :).
