WIW: Whitecap Waves

DH and I spent some time at the beach this weekend, so I thought I'd do my version of a "beach" look. I was inspired by the crashing, swirling water.

On another note, I'm so glad I have this dress - I have not been keeping up with any sort of diet or exercise lately and really having to fight off depressive moods. It is getting better now that I'm making a healthy life change in my career direction, but my body is still larger than usual. This stretchy, drapy dress helps me feel confident despite it all. Much better than straining against my woven sheaths. Hooray for knit dresses that don't cling to trouble spots!

I can feel the sea breeze from here. You look fabulous, even if you feel otherwise. Here's hoping that all the troubles will soon be left far behind.

Rae -- this may be my favorite ever of your outfits. My word. That jacket is MAJOR.

    You too?
We need to start a healthy habits thread...
For the record, you look FANTASTIC...

I love all these pieces individually, and together they are just out of this world!

  • Julie replied 11 years ago

You always seem happy when wearing those boots, Rae. Very therapeutic.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Thanks, ladies. Your kind words are going to get me thorugh the day. I want to start using the word "major" more often!

Zap, I hope your issues do not stem from depression, too. Yes, maybe a healthy habits thread is in order... honestly, it is hard enough to get up and go right now, let alone take charge and go for a run. Bleah... -_-

Rae, you look beautiful. Beautiful cool color on you. Again, jealous of ladies that can wear boots in summer. Love your boots. Love your jacket too. Great outfit.

Beautiful! I'm so glad you went back for that jacket!

    A beautiful look!

Love the colours in that dress! And the outfit is, yet again, a winner. Here's hoping the career change helps lift your mood.

And it's amazing what a difference perspective makes. I will be so happy when I drop down to be as "fat" as you.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Oh, JR, I hope it didn't sound like I was bashing my bod. It's mainly the discomfort of not fitting well in my clothes, you know? I actually don't think I look fat, but it is sometimes hard to keep that perspective with a waistband digging in or a skirt pulling across the thighs. Hence the stretchy dress. :)

Love this dress - and it looks fantastic with your gorgeous white jacket. I hear you about stretchy fabrics :)

    Gains says "meow" to Hank.

Rae you look lovely in this dress and any weight gain is not discernable to my eye.

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

I think you look great! The dress and jacket together are beautiful. Still hoping one day they will bring back that jacket.

What career changes are you making?

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Denise, I've decided to leave wealth management and try to make a go at personal shopping. I know I can't just waltz into the career I want, but I'm hoping to at least get something tangentally related. I just sort of reached critical mass and needed to start doing something I am passionate about.

I love this outfit!!! That dress is amazing!! Sorry you aren't feeling very well. I definitely eat when I feel bad/stresses, etc.

  • Sylvie replied 11 years ago

Great outfit! If I had the right clothes, I would want to copy this from head to toe.

  • Parsley replied 11 years ago

Oh, I do love anything that reminds me of the ocean, and this outfit is the best!

That jacket is just wonderful on you. I like the close-fitting sleeves, and the way you're wearing them unzipped.
The dress is super-flattering. I agree, there are times when a knit is just what the doctor ordered.

Hello jacket twin and cat sister! ^_^ You look beautiful and I'm glad you're making the changes you need to in order to find your career happiness and personal satisfaction. You are really on top of your game as you move to the stretchy knit sheaths to give you both comfort and style. You will be spectacular in your new role, Rae.
