WIW & WIB 7/22 - Half a year later, I finally landed this Angie pick!

1-2: Worn to the swap meet this morning - you can't keep DH and me away! Picked up the choker yesterday; it reminds me of Zoe from "Firefly."

Target dress - swap meet
Leather choker - swap meet
B. Makowsky bag - Ebay
Sperry Topsider A/O boat shoes - swap meet

3-4: Planning to wear to a going away party tonight. The only thing I don't love about the dress is that the front is sheer, but I had a slip handy. SO happy with this one!

ASOS "Midnight Scene" dress - on sale now at ASOS

Turquoise bag - YLF swap
4-in-one Jacket - Victoria's Secret brand via Ebay
Fergie Major boots - Nordstrom clearance

Aaaand, last but not least: one of Angie's picks from way back in November! I found these Stuart Weitzman Caded OTK boots this morning for $20 (!!!!!!!!). Yes, that's 20 US dollars. They have some damage on the left foot, but how could I turn them down for that price?

Do they look okay on me? DH thinks the ankles bunch in a weird way, but for this price I'm thinking I can experiment with the look a little bit? Do my feet look gigantic?

Your feet do not look gigantic, Rae -- you look smashing! Is the damage those little white bits that are visible in #9 and #10? If so, it seems like something that could be fixed with a little shoe polish, no?

  • Kari replied 11 years ago

Wow, those boots! That's fantastic. It looks like this is potentially a drip of paint or something on the shoe that could be covered up - the leather underneath isn't distressed, right?

That last outfit (6-7) is one of my absolute favorites on you, ever.

  • JR replied 11 years ago

Oh, I love those boots! And no, your feet do not look gigantic.

Nice to see you in dresses. You pull them off nicely too. :o)

  • Sona replied 11 years ago

simply loving you in 6 and 7. and those shoes are a major SCORE!! black sharpie I tell you...works all kinds of magic on black boots.

  • KathyL replied 11 years ago

What a great score! Your feet do NOT look gigantic at all. You and Diana are really making me rethink the mid-calf boots. Love your dresses!

  • Kim replied 11 years ago

I second the black Sharpie...Works on all my black shoes and boots!

  • fern replied 11 years ago

You look fantastic - 6/7 is so sleek.
And #4 made me say Wow. That is the tunic I have been looking for. Thank you for the link - I'm hoping it works for me! It definitely works for you!

  • Diana replied 11 years ago

SCORE!!! Those OTK boots are all kinds of awesome. And agree that all you need is a sharpie. I really like how you have styled them too.

Love the photo print dress and the leather choker too.

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Wow, those are fantastic boots! I like boots with stretch fabric as they hug your legs so nicely.

    Love your going-out outfit too!

  • Jem replied 11 years ago

Those boots are hot, hot, hot. Wowza. What luck. I love that midnight scene dress, too.

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

That is an amazing deal, Rae! I hope you can fix the damage and wear them - they are real UWP style!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Your dresses look cute; love that necklace and those boots are fab. I bet you can fix them up, no problem. What a deal!!!

ETA: they look fine around the ankles.

  • Parsley replied 11 years ago

All your outfits look good. That new dress is so much fun!

But those boots- what a find! I have no doubt that you can cover those spots, and then you've got some fantastic boots. I don't see any ankle issues.

  • Julie replied 11 years ago

Curses!! Foiled again!! Just kidding. Keep up with those tremendous boot finds and I may have to surrender the boot babe title to you. I'd better get shopping!!

Now that you have those boots, you should have a much easier time getting the men in your life to know their place and do as they are told. Have you been practising your whip cracking sounds? Anyone asks about the marks on the left boot, just say that's where your crop makes contact when you are emaphasing a point.

    Have fun, "Mistress Rae".

    Cheers

    Julie

  • marianna replied 11 years ago

Wow!!!! What a deal. You'll be able to cover up those scuffs with no problem. Lucky!

  • Melissa replied 11 years ago

Rae, you look like you could kick some **** in a very modelesque way I mean... Wow Rae. You are a swap meet maestro!

  • DeclawedJaguar replied 11 years ago

You've been getting the boot all weekend! Sorry, hard to resist a silly pun :). The fit and the height of them on you are just perfect. Lucky indeed.

  • cjh replied 11 years ago

You look great for weekend of fun and fab shopping. Good job on the boots - you should have no trouble making that mark disappear. I love you in #3-4 the space dyed dress, and #6-7 is sharply stunning.

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

Oh my goodness! Awesomeness! Rae, this is beyond belief! LOVE how you styled the boots --- very space age/military vibe. Gorgeous! And no there is NOTHING weird about them in any way --- they're just super-duper SCORE!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Thanks everyone! I will make these work since you don't mind the ankles. The "scuffs" are actually spots where the leather has torn a bit - not all the way through. I have no idea how someone did this to them. One of them I should be able to glue down with leather glue and should not be noticeable. The other I think should darken up enough to suit me with one of the suggestions you have given. I am on Team RATE after all - a little wear does not bother me. :)

  • Julie replied 11 years ago

Does anyone else think it's interesting how as soon as Rae decides to make her big career leap, all these super cool UWP and other hot look boots just fall into her lap? I think John Lennon said it best with "Instant Karma".

Have you found a riding crop to hang from your belt or wrist, yet; Rae?

    Cheers

    Julie

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Heh heh... not yet, but who know what I will find at the swap meet next week!

  • Mo replied 11 years ago

Picture 7 is killing me!!! Perfect. Is that your Allsaints jacket?

  • replied 11 years ago

Are you kidding me right now! I am so amazed at these fabulous boots!! You think the ankles are a problem? Puh-leeeeeze! (Actually I'm tempted to say they are WAY too baggy so send them to me toute suite.) These are so perfect for you I can hardly stand it. Twenty US dollars? Someone, get the palm fan and the smelling salts!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Uh, actually pic 7 is a 50-cent leather blazer I restored and added a zipper to. It had a huge gash up the side when I bought it. Yikes, I make it sound like leathers rain from the sky...

Claire, I suspect DH would *love* to send them away to you, lol!
