WIW: Boat Shoes, Hi-Low, and El Ombre

I can wear shorts again! For a time. There is a minor and temporary break from the heat, so I was able to wear something other than a sundress for two whole days and counting.

#1 was worn to the grocery store and chiropractor. At the grocery, a little old man tried to flirt with me and get my number - he was kind of adorable with his jaunty red neckerchief!

Teal/aqua plaid shirt - flea market
Ezra Fitch shorts - flea market
Men's belt - flea market
Tignanello crossbody - flea market
Sperry Topsider boat shoes - flea market

#2 was worn to lunch with a friend in Redondo Beach. I ended up unrolling the shorts one roll... I don't know what it is, but I'm not liking my shorts as short these days.

Hi-Low top - little junior's store around the corner
Destroyed shorts - flea market
Destroyed belt - flea market
Tignanello crossbody - flea market
Sperry Topsider boat shoes - flea market
Marc Jacobs ombre bag - flea market, DIY

KILLER x2. And your little admirer at the grocery store thought so too :)

    Looks great, Rae.

Fun and very cute outfits! I know what you mean about the shorts - I just ordered 2 more pair of KUT from the Kloth boyfriends (one denim white and one blue denim) because I love how I can choose how long or short I want to roll them. Many of my other shorts were starting to feel a bit too short to me.

Thank you for looking! I know all the casual wear might not be that exciting to everyone at the moment, but it is my uniform for now. :)

Texstyle, that is definitely a benefit of rolled shorts! I am curious as to whether the length issue has to do with my age or if my eye wants a different set of proportions right now. What were your thoughts?

You're looking fab in your new uniform Rae - and I think it's so cute that you were getting some flirting - sounds like he had some stylin' going on with his neckerchief!

    Cute!

I don't know what it is, but I've been loving my cutoff denim shorts with my metallic boat shoes this summer! Glad to see I'm not the only one.

Both outfits are great! I love the shorts, and it is nice to be able to roll them up or down depending on your mood for the day. I like the length that you have them. For me, I am not a fan of short, shorts because I don't like bringing attention to my thighs and hips. Plus, at my age and with little kids, I feel too old to be wearing them. But that's just me and my weird hang ups :)

such cute outfits and all from flea market. Now that is what I would call creative. especially the boat shoes.....

I love your cutouts and el ombré is the best. You must be getting tons of compliments on it! It must feel awesome to give the work clothes a rest

You look great and that green bag is amazing!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Such great relaxed looks, Rae! So nice to see you kicking back!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Both are fab, but #2 makes my heart flutter! What a fab top with the distressed shorts! I am still enjoying wearing my shorts short, but almost exclusively with my loafers or short boots and a slouchy top.

Number two killed me. That's so great. That top was made for wearing with those shorts, I swear to god. And the boat shoes balance it perfectly.

Rae, your pictures always make me smile :) Looking good, girl! :)

    Both so cute!

If we ever have a YLF conference, I want to attend your "Fab Flea Market Finds" how-to lecture!

  • Kiwichik replied 11 years ago

Wish I could look that good in cutoffs & I'm still loving those boat shoes.

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

Love them both! You are making me want a pair of boat shoes!

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

You don't look wilted at all! Love the bright acid tone the bag gives your outfits.
