WIW: Overcast Americana

Oh, jackets, how I've missed you!

We finally had some overcast mornings here to cool down a bit. This outfit is nothing new, really, and I'm sure I wore the exact same thing many times last summer. However, it still feels like me and is mainly classic/preppy tomboy in style, so I don't mind at all.

Wore this out to yet another swap meet where I found some cool things to put up on Ebay, including a Burgundy leather trench, and Armani sundress, and a BB Dakota purple utility jacket.

In other Beyond the Office news, I had my first brush with true SYC pain when I was waiting for a friend. He was running late, so I pulled over into a mall and browed Anthropologie... of course I found a jacket I love that fits me nicely. But I honestly have no more wiggle room, so I left it behind. I'm considering giving myself an Ebay sales quota to meet - as in once I make my numbers, I can spend $X. Sort of a budget and a mental incentive ploy at the same time. What do you think? Too much girl math for the real world?

I love seeing repeated outfits and this one is as Rae as ever. Fabulous!!

Nothing like giving yourself a little incentive. I am on Team Goal Setting with Reward. Go for it.

Glad that my bigger sis tendency does not make you cringe :)

Fab outfit Rae. Great going at the mall. I like your plan, not too much girl math at all. Sounds like you found some stunning things at the swap, good luck with ebay.

I hear you on the incentive! Yes, it is doable, you can do it!
I am on my second round of successful eBay selling. My goal is to refresh my closet exclusively out of the proceeds from sales. I am selling things I no longer feel too crazy about.
I love all of your casual outfits.

You look great - booboo knee bandaid and all. Your math sounds very sound. Go for it.

Congratulations for not succumbing to The Jacket. That must have been so hard (did you consider going home and cooking the books to make it work?)!

Great outfit for the swap meet, and yay for jacket weather. Blow some my way! Your girl math (shoe math?) sounds very familiar. I just hand waxed a vintage desk and put it on Craig's List to make some money for Kate. Spade that is. Fingers crossed that our stuff sells!

Rae - you look so fab in your Beyond the Office looks! I like the girl math idea and thinks it's fabulous way to buy new things without breaking the bank.

Thanks for checking my math! A system of goals and rewards is a great way to put it. Zap, that is awesome - congrats on your ebay success. I was able to use sales to fund my clothes shopping most of this year... Now hoping it can fund a bit of grocery shopping for a time. Claire, you go! I am cheering you on in you quest for Kate!

Great casual outfit. Good for you for holding out on the jacket, I'm sure that must have been hard. I think your ebay incentive plan is very smart. You go, math girl!

I am proud of you, Rae, for hanging in there, and I am also all for setting a few goals.

Hope your knee doesn't hurt too bad. You look like you're ready for fun in that outfit!

Very cute outfit! Good luck with your Ebay goal. I have a few things to sell on Ebay once I figure it out. It'll be great to see how you do with yours. :)
