Back to Basics Bootcut Boot Camp

One of the most classic outfits I've worn in a long time! Pulled these bootcut jeans out of the closet and decided to give them a spin while I'm still off work, so I can experiment. I was still craving some flair, so I reached for my trusty suede Malcom Reynolds trench. I have been using my new white bag all week, so I also pulled out my old cream dalmatian print ponyhair booties, which have not seen the light of day since I left the bank.

One interesting struggle is that, since I'm more inclined to leave off necklaces right now, it's much harder to carve up my upper torso and stay covered up. I feel more topheavy than usual in the photographs here, and I think that's why. I'll have to try one of my bras that minimize "the girls" a bit more and see if that looks better with the crew neckline.

Overall happiness factor was very high in this, though! I might even extend Bootcut Boot Camp for myself through the rest of the week - what do you think?

You look great in blue rae. Love the boot cuts & boots.
I have the same issue now that I'm not wearing necklaces or scarves as much. I find a
v neck & cami can break up the bust line.

Love the outfit Rae,classic and cool at the same time. You look very pretty in blue!

If you decide to do Bootcut Boot Camp for the rest of the week, I will join you :) I need some motivation to get me out of the skinny jeans rut I have been stuck in.

Love the cobalt on you. Really like the pairing of the white in the boots and bag. The skinnies look FAB on you. And the tip balances you out beautifully.

And you have a Malcolm coat!!! I loved that show, never realized there were so many other fans!

I saw the thumbnail on the home page and had to open this! This is extremely cool! I am surprised because I haven't been loving bootcuts for a while. I love the length, the cut of the jeans, and especially, the preppy but sophisticated style. I think the white / light footwear and bag make the whole outfit on trend. The boot cuts are less expected than skinnies which adds to the cool factor. Can't say enough good things about this...
