Camo Clams

In all the trench excitement yesterday, I forgot to post my outfit! This was worn briefly out to do laundry and run to the market. 

The camo clams are new, $1 from the flea market. I almost passed them up, but they are so. darn. lightweight. that I knew they'd be a great alternative to short shorts for summer. And I needed an alternative since I've been much less enamored with short shorts this year. 

I wish the clams were a wee bit more tapered, but with heels I don't mind the width at all. Aimed to balance the GI Joe element with a feminine silk shirt, wedges, and shiny arm candy. Really enjoyed the effect aside from the fact that I have a metal allergy and really shouldn't wear metal jewelry when it's this hot.

    Super curt! I'm not sure what you mean about wanting the clams more tapered. They look perfect and might not be comfy if they were more tapered. I can't believe you got them for a dollar!! Can I say I never look this cute to do errands?

    I think the clams look perfect as is! This is my new favourite summer short length and style. Love the silk shirt with this, and the sandals. You look great.

    Great buy with those clams, I love them and what an interesting cut your top has, lovely! You do accesorise beautifully Rae; I'm taking notes 'cos I love your bangle, watch, bag and shoes. Looking good!

    I have such a mixed reaction to camo. I lived a lot of my life in hunting country. But this, go figure I like. I think the heeled sandals help immensely.

    Love the bright citron with the camo - great combination. And I'm a firm believer these days that every outfit is improved by having white in it somewhere and this handbag just proves my point.
