Cool-ottes & Crop Top

Wanted to be a little more dressy yet wanted to avoid the warmth of slacks. Enter some $1 culottes. With the linen tank under the thin crop top, this was fairly easy-breezy and comfortable.

As I said in my other thread, it was a really draining day, but it's better to have a draining day in a put-together outfit.

Some may prefer culottes that are baggier in the hip and seat, and I did pick up a pair of denim ones, but I am not reaching for them. DH says those loose ones remind him of frumpy people in ill-fitting crop pants. Probably would be better in a dressy fabric if I want to go super loose.

Great outfit! I like how the hem of the cropped top echos your hair. Understand just what you mean about the fine line between culottes and frumpy crops.

Love it!! Looks very similar to mine albeit a wee bit shorter. And fabrication definitely plays a huge role in deciding the frump factor. I am yet to see a beautifully crafted piece look frumpy on any wearer!

Great culottes outfit! A breezy and edgy look that I would like to copy, somehow.

Love this look and how the color-blocking of the sweater works.

Wow - great look Rae!  Love how you used the crop top here - a  look I would like to try.  Culottes look good here too - and I echo that quick step away from frumpy ill-fitting crops worn by so many.....:)

The crop top keeps it fresh, Rae!  And the knits keep it comfy.  This trend may be fringe, but its practical!

This looks great, fresh and cool. If I were young enough, I'd be trying to copy this myself.

You always look cool, Rae! Love that necklace too.

Love it! I am filing this away to copy with my similar slim culottes once we get our normal cooler weather. You so rock those round-hem cropped tops, I'm pretty pumped to finally have a couple to play with this fall. I will definitely be looking back through your outfit posts with them ^^

These are not my mother's culottes! Or mine from back in the day for that matter :) What a great outfit on you, Rae, the styling of the crop top is perfection.
