Dusted

I thought this duster was so cool when I saw it at the flea market ($4!). But then I hesisiated on it for... Wow, it has to be a few months now. Rather unheard of for Team Wear. I was afraid it might look like a crazy cat lady bathrobe at work.

But I gave it a go today, and I really, really loved it. Felt very cool swishing around my legs and billowing out when I walked fast.

Welcome home from the holding zone, cardigan!

Free People cardigan - flea market
Theory new recovery pants - Marshall's
Pleione racerback - Nordies (gratis)
Oh! Shoes booties - Amazon
Chainmail watch - gift
Brahmin satchel - Nordies

Nope, no crazy cat lady bathrobe here. Just awesomeness. So cool.

This is fantastic.  I swear, Rae, you are getting more gorgeous by the minute!

Dust off that crazy cat lady in robe notion, Rae. You look awesome!

Cats may be grabbing at you to play with the "longer length" IYKWIM, however, you look refined and elegant in this piece.

    Love it!

YLF Rae!  That drapey cardigan does feel like a super woman in a good way!  Did I tell you how much I LOVE your handbag and how it goes with everything?  :)

You're making me miss the rust-colored duster I purged a few months back because you look so cool in yours!

Thirty years ago I knew a woman who was a total computer nerd. Then she decided to become stylish, and she wore a duster. She looked amazing. Later--true story--she founded the Urban Decay line.

Just to say, I think dusters are really sophisticated and you look awesome.

Wow, your gorgeous style constantly floors me. You look amazing!

Love the soft color and the drape of the cardi over the simple black underlayer.
Gotta love an outfit that moves when you do!

  • carambola replied 10 years ago

Wow, I love this. I bet it looked phenomenal in motion.

So, are you saying there's something wrong with crazy-cat-lady-bathrobe?  :-)
    (You look great!)

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Thanks, ladies - a relief to know it does not feel like a superhero cape but look like jammies.

I have been hideously sick all night and have to stay home today, so I am really sad about that, but YLF can always make me smile.

My kind of sweater. Love it!

Very cool! Deborah has somehing similar, a  duster waistcoat, posted it not long ago!

  • Jude replied 10 years ago

This is amazing! I'm in love with the whole look here (including the hair!), and seriously envious about your thrifting abilities...
Sorry that you're sick, though :-( Feel better soon!

  • LACeleste replied 10 years ago

Swoosh!  So cool.  Sorry you are sick today Rae.

  • Sharon replied 10 years ago

Another vote for cool. There's something a bit badass about a long topper flaring out slightly behind you as you walk. Much more Matrix than crazy cat lady.

  • Astrid replied 10 years ago

    Yes, very cool!

  • Aubergine replied 10 years ago

You look great - elegant but relaxed! (In other words, you look how I always think I'll look in long drapey cardigans, despite continuing evidence that they look totally cat-lady on me in reality.)

  • Paulette replied 10 years ago

    I like it very much.

Move love.  The duster adds a fresh playfulness to the all black.

  • gryffin replied 10 years ago

Rae - Love this.  Slender column of black with elegant, flowy duster/cardi plus the fab bag.  You look graceful and refined - no PJ lady in sight!!  Hope you feel better!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Thanks, everyone! The pants are actually navy. :-)
