Grudging Nod to the Blue CA Skies

DH and I were feeling well enough to venture out for lunch today. Still, I really hesitated to post this photo, because I have toboggan-hat hair and a bit of a double chin from the angle of the camera. I also was not feeling the summer weather and would have been happier with an overcast day. :(

In the end, though, I still like the outfit enough to record it. I went for a column of color on bottom with dark wash jeans and a navy tank, hoping that the tighter underlayer would help give me a waist in the midst of all the volume. If I could go back, I would leave off the necklace.

dip dye top - Anthropologie
navy tank - flea market
boyfriend jeans - Old Navy
men's belt - flea market
Ted Baker bag - flea market
Sperry boat shoes - flea market

You look great and I do not see a double chin! That ombre sweater is one of my favorites. Oh, and wait until next week, winter is supposed to return.

I like the many shades of blue. The white bag is a peep of spring but not too much :)

No issues with the necklace and I only looked at your chin because you told me to.
Very nice. I want spring already now, but it looks like we might get some winter this weekend afterall.

    Love it!

I love this shade of blue -- especially in the ombre. It's very happy. This is such a comfy casual look. (Don't worry about the camera angle. We know how pretty you are!)

No double chin, I think this is a really good picture of you. Is this a new camera?

You really do the rolled bf jeans well and I love the dip dye sweater making for a very blue outfit (tonal love).

But I would have rather seen the galaxy oxfords here, I am not a boat shoe girl. However if the boat shoe connection to water brings us some more rain in CA I will take it. (I'm with you on preferring an overcast day, actually I want some rainy days. We have enough sun here already.)

Great BF styling! I love this, and it's perfect for a sunny day.

Denise, I was this close to wearing the oxfords! I did not have time to try both, and I was afraid it would be TMGO on top of the ombre. Next time!

Love it! That color looks so good on you - and I'm going to be wearing mine with a navy tank underneath as well. I'm with Denise on the shoes - the oxfords would have been smashing! (not that there's anything wrong with the boat shoes - its just that the oxfords IMO would have been better.) I am a lover of sunshine so today was my kind of day - sorry to hear that we are going to be getting "winter" weather again! Oh, and where's the double chin?????

Rae, you look amazing and I could never tell you are feeling less than 100% healthy. That colour is my absolute favourite and the shirt is just fabulous. Love how you've styled it and managed waist definition too! You are radiant in the sunlight!

I think you look great in this clean, minimalist outfit.

Suddenly The Mamas and the Papas' California Dreamin' is playing in my head. On such a winter's day....

Love all the lovely sunny shades of blue; and I don't have any issues with the necklace either and definitely no double chin. You look great!

Love the outfit Rae! It is a perfect combo (I am coveting the jumper too)
