"Goosed" in the Park

Well, LA is a rough town - had a "goosing" and a near purse-snatching while strolling a park this morning with DH. ;) A family had just finished feeding the local birds, so I decided to jump in and take advantage of all that production value for an outfit shot. The birds were clearly used to being fed and demanded that we get with the program. Since I had nothing to offer, their ringleader tried to shake me down!

Both the top and bottom in this outfit were actually purchased with Denise when she came to visit (waving at Denise!), and they are both highly favored items in the wardrobe now. Nothing like shopping with the YLF crew.

BDG tee - Urban Outfitters
men's belt - flea market
Allsaints camo pants - Allsaints
Ted Baker bag - flea market
Rockport "Anna Motor" boots - Shoebacca

Lol, love your outfit. The stripes and camo is awesome!

Laughing at the geese. We have a pond like that at home (parents place) and the geese are CRaZY! They will take you out!

OMG these are fantastic shots! I love the pushy goose in #3.

The mix of prints -stripes and camo -- is clever! I don't think I've seen it here on YLF yet.

And I agree it's great shopping with a YLF crew member, I am wearing those two sweaters all the time! (The blue cheap one from UO is already super pilled and fuzzy, while the FP one is holding up beautifully. I am SO glad the coin told me to keep it!)

Love the outfit Rae, but love those shots even more! The geese have quite an attitude, don;t they?

The geese in my town were vicious. My mom once got chased by one named Mr. Pecker... Someone even gave him a collar and name tag.

    You, however, look just ducky!

The stripes and camo are so interesting, I really like it. Those geese are pretty pushy - next time you had better have some chow : )

You look great! Geese are really bossy -- there are some at the pond by my house and they accost passers-by. The ducks are much more gentle.

Great photos. They are sure the food is in your bag.

Hehe, Mr. Pecker... he must have a distant relative here. That goose in #3 is pecking at my pants pretty insistently.

Denise, I'm really glad the coin told you to keep the FP, too! I think pilling is the one thing we did not consider - touchability, breathability, drape, outfits, capsules... gotta remember that next sweater season. :T

You look fabulous, Rae. And those are great photos! Hilarious!

Geese can be amazingly insistent. These ones are obviously no exception!

Seagulls are just about as aggressive if they get fed by humans a lot. I had a seagull swoop down and snatch an entire tray of sweet potato fries right away from me! Greedy buggers. The gull was about the size of a small dog, to boot, so there was no way I was going to argue with him...

This outfit looks just incredibly fresh for spring! So gorgeous! Heading over to the UO website right now....

Such cute photos and your outfit looks great. The stripes and camo are a fun, fresh take on casual.

You look great. I never would have thought to pair stripes with camo like that, but it works!

And you are a brave woman to stand amongst the geese that way! We were feeding the ducks in a local park once, but the geese ran at the kids and hissed at them. Instead of wanting food, they wanted us GONE. The kids were terrified, but I hissed back at them and got them to back off. Friendly ducks, terrifying geese!

I adore your purse, and your boots!! You look great. I am so glad they are not Canada geese, that would be embarrasing. I cannot stand geese, there are loads around here and they scare me!!

You look great! I'm loving the stripes with the camo and that bag is fab! Oh, and those boots are SO amazing. I'm jealous of your awesome boot collection!

  • tarzy replied 11 years ago

You look fab - love those pants. (Such beautiful weather we had today!)

  • Thistle replied 11 years ago

Love the stripes and camo together - now that is pattern mixing! Those goose shots are so cool, and glad you managed to get out okay! Those geese can get pretty insistent when they want food. The ones around here have been known to walk into supermarkets. They get two or three of them on the automatic doors and walk right n!

Those are about the cutest WIW posts Rae! Love the stripes paired with the camp - brilliant. And I'm totally envious seeing green trees and grass...

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

You look great and fearless in the face of that mob! Those geese look like they mean business!

  • tayleigh replied 11 years ago

So many geese! My friend who goes to U of Waterloo never ceases complaining about the geese but I think they're cute :) Love the outfit, you look so casual and fun!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Thistle... OMG! I can't believe the geese 1) are so brazen and 2) figured out how to use the doors. Humans had better watch out, man, we are not giving the animals credit where it is due. o_0

The goose! Wow! We witnessed a turf war here the other day between the geese and the wild turkeys.... hissing wing flapping madness. The geese won, BTW. But, glad I wasn't in the middle! Great pattern mix and love your shades :)

  • Diana replied 11 years ago

Man, you've reminded me of the aggressive geese I used to encounter as a kid all the time back home in CA! I think I was kind of scared of them actually; we used to go feed the ducks and then the geese would come and chase not only the ducks, but us kids!

Love your pattern mixing - the bold stripes and neutral camo together are so unexpected and fun.

Hilarious story - love it - Mother Goose the true story bit like Ma Baker of the animal world.

The outfit looks perfect for lakeside strolling.
