Not-quite-a Suit

I never did end up getting that classiques suit... I still love it, but did not want to come off as intimidating since many managers who would interview me right now are younger than me. but here is a suit like outfit made from my striped flared trousers and my tuxedo ish blazer.

forgot to get a shot of the shirt by itself so I took one inside during lunch.

I'll tell you what, the sales world can be a cruel mistress sometimes. if I did not love the fashion thing, I might be in trouble...lol.

wearing a $1 swap meet top, $1 Bebe swap meet parents, and last season's Trouve blazer. New Rockport pumps from Amazon, too! I must add those to the fines when I get home. " looks like a pump, feels like a sneaker."

That's a great almost-suit, the blacks even look like they match up! I like that the pinstripes are on the trousers versus a pinstriped blazer with plain pants. Much better. Wide leg pants with big cuffs have a soft spot in my heart <3 COOL top, love those sleeves.

You look professional but approachable -- a very cool, slouchy/fluid look! And that necklace is really cool -- where is that from?

Great almost-suit! Rockport pumps that look like a pump and feel like a sneaker? Details??!!

    Stunning!

Managers who would be interviewing you are YOUNGER than you? You are barely 30. My word. I'm sooooo middle aged.

I love this look, Rae. Fabulous. xo

Gorgeous, girl. You look so tall and leggy, fashionably androgynous. I really love those pants to no end.

Sorry you are feeling cruelly treated by your mistress. Rats.

I want to see them pumps, "Find" them when you can, yes please.

And the yellow bag just takes the whole look up a notch.

Love this faux suit. And yes Rockport pumps are amazing.

    Love this look for you!

Rae, you look awesome...so well put-together!

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

You look lovely Rae! Love the flared *suit*. Cute top too.

You are so inspiring with the comfy shoes. Your hair looks great. Your outfit looks fantastic. Hilarious about the young managers, I was about to say something like what Angie said. I love my profession--would you believe my boss is almost 20 years older than I am?

  • kellygirl replied 9 years ago

Awesome. You look terrific, Rae! Polished and stylish!

Loving this androgynous, just-femme-enough outfit. especially sneaking that fun shirt under a suit! and *your* flares. Ah-mazingly flattering.

Hope the mistress is impressed into treating you better.

Awesome look from head to toe! I love it.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Lol... Angie, we can be middle aged together;).

Rae, this is just stunning. Very grown up elegant. I don't think I have the words, but the lovely drape of the pants, the cut of the jacket...everything just works. Are you job hunting??

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

This is wonderful on you, Rae. I wanted to say "stunning" but Deborah just used that word! :) The drape and proportions are elegant. I really like the necklace(s) and shoes you chose. Is it one necklace or two?

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

I love the drape of this outfit, and I also love a nice wide legged, wide cuffed pair of dress pants. I'll bet those Rockport pumps are super comfy.

  • celia replied 9 years ago

Perfect almost-suit. I also love the outfit without the jacket.

  • Laura (rhubarbgirl) replied 9 years ago

I am in love with the shoes, too. Are they these, in the sand?

Hope your interview went well; you looked great.

I could have sworn I posted on this thread!!

Anyway, I'm here now and I have to say this look is divine!!

  • replied 9 years ago

Rae, that is a stunning suit! Better than a perfectly matched one IMO. You look amazing. But you got the jingle mixed up. That one is for Easy Spirit shoes. Remember the chicks playing basketball in them in the commercial? I'm sure your Rockports are just as comfy. You make everything you put on look luxe and high end. How DO you do it?!

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Works like a suit to me, and a great looking one at that.
