Outfit Collab: Short Shorts, Long Jacket, Goth Boots, Fingerless Glove

Went out to use a restaurant gift card with Hubs this afternoon, and he helped choose the outfit, since I wanted to wear something he liked. Started with my idea of shorts with tights. He chose the long coat instead of a short jacket, and he preferred my "goth boots" instead of my plain black riding boots. I threw on these marled fingerless glove/handwarmer things to try and balance the statement-y quality of the boots.

This outfit ended up being too cold for outdoors, but it was adequate for the time we spent eating indoors.

Bonus closeup of the gloves and my blue nails. :)

Super smashing, Rae! Mr. Rae has a very good style sense, did he get that from close proximity to your fabness? It's a very nice outfit for a romantic lunch, and I hope you had fun.

Adorable! The lace up boots are fab with the shorts. You look sweet and tough all rolled into one. The fingerless gloves are the perfect finishing touch! So cool.

Very cool! I especially love the boots with the shorts.

    What Zap said :)

How fun that you and hubs came up with this great look! I think he influences your style the most out of everyone. Good thing you are on the same wavelength :)

I agree with KG - sweet & tough.

    Definitely thumbs up

Great outfit! I love the shorts and tights look but have yet to find the right pair of shorts to try it myself.

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

    Fun!

I love that both your and my husbands were responsible for our respective outfits today. :-)

I love the boots with the shorts. I have not see it executed by many people well so the trend has not been one of my favorites but this is fantastic on you. Just proves that it's the woman that makes the clothes not the other way around.

I love the outfit. Very girly for you, but still in your boyish style. Awesome boots and hurray for DH helping out .

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Love this! Those boots are amazing. And I love the texture of the gloves!

  • Thistle replied 11 years ago

Love all of the textures, and what a great shopper you are - looks like most of that super fab outfit was found at flea markets or ebay!

    Your hubs has great style!

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

You are getting the mileage out of those boots, Rae. You look great!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Hubs is on a winner. You look great. Love the longer jacket over the shorts.

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Okay, I see some UWP adorableness creeping into your outfits - in a good way. These have a touch of NicoleB's insouciance to me, don't you think? Or is it just the hats?

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

I love this sort of artistic collaboration! ;-)

There's also a touch of the impish again about this.

  • Vicki replied 11 years ago

First off, your "thumbs up" gave me the biggest, happiest SMILE today, because that represents the sweet, powerful essence of Rae!

Those gloves, your goth boots and hubby's input make it all rock. I know this outfit may look warm and toasty, but I can so relate to how it works indoors better, because it IS COLD here in So. Cal.

    Those BOOTS! *swoon*

And now I have the Cake song "Short Skirt, Long Jacket" in my head.

  • Mochi replied 11 years ago

I am so in love with this, rae. Especially the coat and boots.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

    Fabulous outfit, Rae!

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

Gosh! Hubby is pretty punk, Rae! What's his personal style?

    I'm so curious now :)

  • tayleigh replied 11 years ago

Absolutely love this outfit @_@ Your husband has great taste!

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

What a great collaboration! I think your hubby has a great handle on you UWP style, Rae!
