Romancing the Stone

Two appointments yesterday were for dressier, romantic styles, so I wen't dressier and more romantic - not a RATE element to be found!

This BP necklace is my attempt and prolonging the life of the spiked one Una found for me, off of which I have managed to wear most of the gold plating that touches my neck. I really like it for adding modesty to my low-buttoned necklines while not shortening my short neck.

This shirt is a new Trouve I got while I had an extra discount but, although I was madly in love with the style, I have stopped recommending it. This is the first outing, and the back seam ripped almost all the way down. It was not tight in the shoulders, and you can see it did not gape in the bust. I had to exchange for the size up since my size was not in the store, and I didn't want to run about nekkid. The size up is not bad, but it doesn't make me want to prance like my regular size did. :(

I know I'm yammering on, so I'll just do a fast shoe update: for major, hard wear with lots of speed, turns, and quick stops, these Earthies were only good for 3-4 hours. They are much better for slow days. :T

You look lovely!  And so sorry about the shirt. That is really disappointing!

Disappointing about the shirt but you look great!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

This is gorgeous! The jeggings are such a good fit and the shirt is on trend with a more fluid look.

But the necklace plating is wearing off?!? That is tragic even for $11!

You look so cute!  I can't decide what my favorite part of your outfit is... the shoes, or the way the necklace and the top fit together so perfectly :)

  • deb replied 10 years ago

Love the shirt. too bad they did not have your size.

Rae, you are downright beautiful, so lovely and feminine!  Felt a wosh of 'ohhhh' seeing you in this.  You are girly!

That too bad about your shirt :( Fun to dress in a little different style to help your clients have extra confidence in you.... although i know there arent any YLFer's who wouldn't snap you right up after seeing your capabilities for fun and creativity day after day!

I love every bit of this outfit from top to toe!

  • Freckles replied 10 years ago

So sorry that parts of your outfit didn't work out Rae.
I have a romantic bent in my soul so love this totally, unusual but very spot on for you when you feel like a change.

3-4 hours is pretty good for a heeled shoe!

Love you in these colors and the sleek lines of this outfit still retain the tougher, RATE integrity of your style.

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

Oh you look great in this style Rae!  I love that blouse - so sad that it wasn't very good quality!  The color is beautiful on you.  The shoes are really pretty - are they a burgandy color?  Also, have to give a shout out to "Precious!"  Lookin' good!

    Nice!

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

So pretty! How nice that you matched your clients' style while staying true to your own. You do girly and tomboy equally well! Too bad about the shirt and necklace!

  • Kristin L replied 10 years ago

That's horrible about the top and necklace. But you look great!

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

Rae, I swear you look more gorgeous every single day!

That's awful about the shirt and the necklace, though!  :(

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

The back seam ripped on the first outing?? I would be seething.

Great outfit nonetheless - and no rips yet.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

What Angie said! At first I wasn't sure I had read correctly. Ahem...does your company not have an excellent returns policy? Does that policy not apply to staff? But I guess you needed to wear something...and the colour is great on you.

I am grateful for these shoe reports. I feel like this is a lot of good information for any of us who need to stand and walk a lot but who can't wear complete flats.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Una, I know, but I really cannot complain with how much I wore the necklace. It has been going out several times a week since you sent it and seems to complete many outfits!

Angie and Suz, the company took care of me and exchanged the blouse with no problem. I just could not wait for them to send the XS to me because I had to change immediately for my appointment. :T Oh well, I guess maybe I have less chance of hulking out in the larger size?

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

You and hulking? I have a hard time visualizing that :)  You look amazing though. Love the Earthies in this. Sorry they aren't all day shoes.

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

So lovely, and the gaps in the shoes mimic and complement the necklace design so well.

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

You look gorgeous and you still look 'you'.  The necklace is lovely and I am really sorry about the shirt.  How much bigger is the next size up?

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

I love this look from head to toe - it's all stunning. Those shoes are super fab!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

    "hulking out"

    :)

And it's hard to get me to type a smiley face these days.
