Siamese Safari

It has been 2 days since my last purchase.

But I'm doing just fine remixing old favorites. I considered wearing this vest open for a change, but I just like it so much better buttoned up. I'm liking the mix of stark black and white with the warmer tones of the olive and the taupe in the cat print. Added the brown booties for a little more of an earthy stretch.

BB Dakota vest - thrifted

Gap denim leggings - Ebay
Timberland booties - Sierra Trading Post
Brahmin bag - Nordies

I like the streamlined fit of the vest buttoned up.  Also like the pattern mixing with your shirt and bag.

The long vest is particularly fantastic. I believe in them :)

You look fantastic in this outfit!

I love the cat print paired with your striped bag, Rae. And agree that the long vest, buttoned up, is such a great look for you.

    And 2 days is excellent!-)

Great look, love the vest and congratulations, one day at a time :)

Love the long vest buttoned. Most assuredly how 00Noir would wear it. Sleek and streamlined and it feels a little British to me.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Thistle, I agree. Flapping vests create drag when running after evildoers.

And Rachy, I am officially a long vest fan... Hope to find another one day!

You know I am going to love anything that involves that shirt. My favourite shirt of all time, and you wear it so brilliantly.

I raelly, raelly -- raelly -- LOVE this outfit. And you were right to leave the vest buttoned up (I need one too!), it defines the silhouette brilliantly and makes quite a statement. Permission to faint now??

Whoo hoo DAY 2! Keep up the good work - BE STRONG!
Cute outfit - love the vest.

Ooh, I love that vest!  The silhouette, the color, the pockets, everything.  Love how it pairs with the Siamese shirt.

PS - is your cheetah holding up the mirror? I love how it looks like he (she?) is peeking out from behind it.

Love the mix!  Great touch with the brown boots.  Liking that bag the more I see it....really gives everything a pop!

I love the vest! It's such an interesting piece! I love this look it's an interesting blend of safari and active and whimsy. I think the brown booties were a good choice to extend the warmth of the vest to other areas of the outfit. Great look!

Seriously Rae?  This is so cool - that vest is awesome!  Love it all buttoned up - it makes you look taller - long and sleek.  Also, I think the brown boots are a great touch - and that black and white bag seems to go with everything in your closet!  I am still amazed at how you knew it was the one for you!  I mean, its perfect!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Hehe, Diana, he (President Camacho) isn't holding it up, but he happens to live next to the entertainment center that is.

Marley, I'm kind of surprised - and relieved - myself! But I had carried a black and white stripe bag before and really loved it. Too bad it was really, really cheaply made. But I guess that's how one test-drives a look.

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

I love it when you wear cats! And that B&W striped bag goes with everything! Just like my red one!

Two days is great! How long are you planning to SYC?

  • chewyspaghetti replied 10 years ago

    Cute!

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

The brown booties were the perfect addition to tie in the olive jacket.  Nice!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Natalie, for now I'm aiming for Shoptoberfest as the end to SYC. But really I am just trying to go one day at a time. I think it will get harder when I don't have existing orders to look forward to receiving.

A few days later, I have to comment. I was purging my coat closet yesterday and found an amazing olive military style anorak that I haven't worn in years. With you as my inspiration, I moved it to my clothes closet, and plan to incorporate it into some outfits instead of just treating it as outerwear.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

That's awesome, FF! I hope it gets some good wear!

I'm behind on fab posts, but I wanted to pop in and say:

    1.  Adore the Sunnies!

    2.  This carries a lot of 60's 007 vibes.  Yeah!
