One-Dollar Wonders

WIW a year ago & today #1

This challenge turned out to be unexpectedly depressing... I don't fit into *any* of the bottoms I wore 1 year ago. I really have to get. it. together. :(

But back to the YLF retrospective:

- Last year is on the left, this year is on the right. I learned that this jacket is not my best color and is not my most flattering piece, so I swapped out the neutral top for the bright citron blouse, even though this sacrifices the column of color that is in #1.. The silver necklace was added as a further attempt to brighten my face.

- I also learned that I like a little hard edge, even in my work outfits, so I'm wearing Docs instead of loafers.

- Finally, I learned more about caring for my leather goods, so I'm carrying a PU bag due to the rain predicted for this afternoon.

- Most of all, I learned that it's time to let this jacket go. I'll attempt to sell it, but it's not staying with me.

All in all, good, solid lessons. Thanks, YLF!

    You look sassier and more Raelicious if that's any consolation to the "fit" issue. I can't tell the difference except that you look more like "you" this year! The citron blouse and the edgier footwear--all fab! Gorgeous!

    I think this jacket would look great if it were a shorter length. It's no so much the color...a bright scarf would really polish this look.

    Don't feel bad, just about everything I was wearing this time last year is in my car ready to be either donated or consigned somewhere! I'd be embarassed to put some of it on for a picture.

    I love this year's verson and the boots totally rock it! Bye-bye blazer. *waving* Rae is too fab for you now!

    Sounds like a lesson learned. Valuable exercise! I don't have any pics organized to know what I wore a year ago except that today was my half marathon so I remember that!
    I can guess that I was under accessorized in general and not wearing shoes very much.

    RWest, you're right that a better shape would help, too. One or the other might have made it a keeper, but I'm just not feeling it.

    AJ, unfortunately no... This is a different skirt, since I don't fit into the original one. :_(

    Rae, you did a great job finding a replacement for the black skirt because they look the same to me.

    You have such a beautiful, proportional figure, I can't tell that there has been any size difference.
