What to wear when it's 75 Degrees at night and you're supposed to meet another couple for drinks?
- Navy scalloped edge cotton dress (cute scalloped neck, too!) - $1 at flea market
- Brown beaded jacket - MaryK's via swap party!
- Carlos Santana glitter heels - Ross
- Pearl bracelet pile - $1 at flea market
I know we've been getting it easy in LA as far as the heat this summer, so you'd think I can't complain... yeah, you'd think that, but I've complained all day anyway. Sticky heat = eeew.

So lovely, Rae! I think this is perfect for the event, and of course I'm always excited to see my favorite glittery pumps. I know we're all about midis these days, but I am selfishly happy to see you in a shorter skirt because I still love and wear mine too. Also, those legs!! :D

It was so hot in the bar that we all went out to buy waters and half watch a meteor shower on the beach. Tough to walk in those shoes, and now I have a blister again... Wardrobe hole identified: *walkable* going out shoes!

I'm just your average working stiff who loves nice things and hates to pay for them. This blog outlines my efforts to navigate that treacherous shopping/saving divide through swappin', thriftin', and even a little resellin'. Many of the pieces in my wardrobe cost me just $1! We've heard a lot about people "living above their means" in recent years; I'm championing the concept of living large *below* your means - whatever that means for you. :)
