WIW: Variation on Slouchy Blousey Manly

As you may remember from Monday, Angie helped me realize that my outfit was indeed more manly than boyish - fine with me, once it clicked that there are different styles of menswear!

Today has meeting set up and a fire drill on the agenda, so I'm going with a variation on that same outfit - soft blouse, trousers, rugged belt, and my faux-flat 80%20 boots.

Citron blouse - Christmas/Bday money via Ann Taylor
Gray cardi - $10 via Target
Leather belt - $3 via swap meet
BR Sloan pants - Christmas Money via BR
80%20 Rina ankle boots - Christmas Money via Karmaloop

(Wow, I really went on a spree beefing up my work wardrobe in December!)

    MMMM....eye candy :)

I love your interpretation of this look. Please tell me you aren't going to have to deal with ROUS's at work today, lol.

I like this outfit and your interpretation on manly. Personally I think a necklace, something sort of rustic (leather, wood, etc) would complete the look. That's just my opinion though so take it for what it's worth :)

VERY FAB! All the pics and your outfit!

Men can be very snappy dressers. We need to give them more credit. I love wearing manly styled ensembles too. Very close to my heart.

ROUSs? I don't think they exist.
    *Tackled!*

Heh heh heh... love that scene!

LOL at Captain Tighty Pants as well!!

Sara, I wanted to wear my bullet necklace, but I figured it be better to leave it off with clients around. :T

Angie, yes, credit where credit is due. I might even have more male style icons than female!

Your posts are making me covet so many new things! Love the inspiration and your interpretations.. less princess, more swashbuckler.

Anything Princess Bride is fine by me :) I suppose the blouse could be called Buttercup as a nod to the feminine in your masculine vibe-d outfit?

    I like it!

Love it especially citron sleeves peaking out from grey cardi

Perfect for a fire drill! Now we just need to get you some lederhosen!

  • rae replied 12 years ago

*frantically searching for pic of CE in lederhosen*

LOL, you guys are the best!
