Neck-ropolis

This is such a hasty post, but I hope to add better shots later. Got to texting with my soon-to-be stepmother and ran out of photo time. :-) I didn't wear the green coat, but I wanted to share it... It is the one I accidentally won on Ebay. Karen Millen does not disappoint! The color is so much better than the promo pic - a fantastic bottle green. For the PPC, I went literal and wore my trusty Raebot with black, white, and sepia tones. Definitely a go-to outfit for me!

Kitty Go-Whitely

Well, there was a cat on the poster for Breakfast at Tiffany's, so how could I not run with that? New Equipment siamese cat blouse worn with Audrey-esaue black Really Skinny pants. Topped off with a classic trench and shiny white bad in lieu of pearls. And of course some oversized movie star sunnies!

Picture Perfect Challenge: Star Wars

Ah, no cars in my photo alley today! Sorry for the harsh shadows, though, it was late by the time I came home from Dr. Shrink.

This outfit was made possible by the Picture Perfect Challenge here on YLF. Today's theme was a 1977 Star Wars movie poster, so I decided to go for a kind of "urban jedi" look. I chose a blousey flannel to mirror the fit of the characters' robes, and I went for a mix of blue, gray, and white to recall the colors of the poster. The final touch was a silly little joke: a tiny pulley... so that I can manipulate "the force." Get it? Heh? Heh?? o_0

Interestingly, I also wore a Jedi-inspired outfit almost a full year ago, during my personal Manspiration Month challenge. A lot of things changed in a year - hair, job, a lot of the actual pieces left in my closet - but for whatever reason, I guess gray skinnies just scream "jedi" to me!

Blue flannel - flea market - $1
Linen tank - Madewell
Gray jeans - American Eagle
Dr. Martens "Marcie" boots - Shoebuy
Ted Baker bag - flea market
Pulley pendant - hardware store

Gorgeous, Slouchy Crossover Pants and Shorts on Etsy

I'm not shopping right now (repeating for conviction: I am not shopping right now!), but I spotted these cool pants and had to share them with you. From the photos, they look like the perfect drapey trousers for Fall. Not too baggy, not too thin, fluid and not crinkly. I emailed the seller for a little reconnaissance, and she replied quickly and clearly.

#1 comes in many colors.
#2 is a great charcoal stripe
#3 comes in heather gray, which really helps make the draping stand out.

The downside is that the seller is in China, but she has completely 100% positive feedback through over 400 transactions. Anyone feel like venturing out? :)

Ups & Downs

Well, I had typed a lot and then lost everything with an unfortunate swipe of my finger... Guess I am not the smartphone generation! Will add details at home, but just wanted to post and say hello on my lunch break. Happy Saturday, dressed up and down!

Weather Belle

Cloudy day, cloudy top, courtesy of Ceit! Definitely more on the polished side of my style, but I feel I maintain my general UWP aura through the moody colors, Docs, and Tom-Waits-homage post title. :) Worn without the trench for a morning shift at work.

Sour Girl

Bought this sweater a good while back, actually, when I was asking after citron basics. I'm hoping this baby will at least get me through another year, since my Pim & Larkin cashmere pullover is pilling so badly. I initially paired the sweater with my slouchy camo pants, but it was so nice outside that they seemed too heavy. Out came my Camerons... again. If I tracked cost-per-wear, I'm sure it'd be minuscule in no time (and hey, I never noticed before, but they have citron stitching)! Topped off with a new $1 belt.

No special outing today, just a trip to Dr. Shrink and the grocery store. But a chic woman in the parking garage elevator in Beverly Hills complimented me on my ability to wear yellow! I count that as a fashion victory. :)

Citron sweater - Banana Republic
Men's 3-prong belt - flea market $1
True Religion Cameron jeans - Amazon
Ted Baker bag - flea market
Report Marks booties - Amazon

White and Day

I must be on a white kick right now - all I want to wear are white tops and jackets. Talk about the spring neutral. Went for something different, though it doesn't qualify as "new" since it is gear (trying to be good). :)

Wore this out to the flea market - for once I did not go to shop for myself, too. My good friend needed some cheap dress shirts, so I dug through the piles and threw shirts at him to try on. Fun! We ended up with 4 good shirts and a tie. I also came home with a $1 belt and a $5 Zara leather jacket... not sure what I'll do with the latter - keep or sell. It is very distressed and lined in rayon, which makes me hesitate to sell. May have to create a separate post for that one!

Zella hoodie - flea market
Abercrombie men's belt - flea market
True Religion "Cameron" jeans in Missouri wash - Amazon
Sealup trench - Yoox
Dr. Martens "Marcie" boots - Shoebuy
Ted Baker bag - flea market
Spy "Siouxsie" glasses - 6pm

Black Hole Galaxy

Super tired after work, mainly because I took a Krav Maga class on Sunday and now have a huge, painful bruise on my leg that makes standing and walking sort of difficult. The galaxy shoes were my first choice for both physical and mental comfort. I wanted them to be the center of attention, so I kept the rest of the outfit super simple.

I hope everyone else's return from Spring Break was less painful!

Black cashmere pullover - $1 at flea market!
Olivia Moon skirt - Rack
Miista galaxy oxfords - gift from Best Friends Ever :)
Ted Baker bag - flea market
Tiger charm - Florence, Italy
Silver necklace - Ebay
