Beachy minimal charcoal

I have been sitting on this tee thinking it was too summery, but the store has been overly warm for me lately, so I busted it out with sandals and charcoal pants nabbed on sale. They may look black on some monitors, bit they are heathered charcoal with awesome ankle zips. I am pretty sure the print on the tee is an Alpine scene, but the colors remind me of the beach. :-)

PS: I got into the program I interviewed for! Thank you for all the good thoughts... I never underestimate the power of combined YLF vibrations!

LOVE that tee and the way the pattern is reflected in the sandal straps. And the yellow bag, what a burst of sunshine.

Either I forgot or completely missed it - what is the program?

  • April replied 10 years ago

Oh, to be wearing something that light outside today!  Looks great, Rae, even if I thought the graphic on your tee was a cityscape...  :)

ETA: And congratulations!  I missed what program you were applying to?

  • rabbit replied 10 years ago

Many congrats on the program! It looks like an interesting opportunity.  Outfit is great, like pil I love the strap/stripe echos in the tee, sandals, and bangles.

Okay I really need to find a colored bag to give pop to black/gray outfits...

  • fathenry replied 10 years ago

Wow, this is a great outfit! Where did you get the top and pants?

  • Helena replied 10 years ago

Love the patterned top with the pop of yellow. I second the question about the pants - they are really nice!

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

    Congratulations on the program!!!
Now, this outfit is AMAZING. Definitely in my top 3 of all time Rae fashions. Details, PLEASE. STAT.

Oh Lord, that top. Please don't let it be a fortune. :)

Thank you so much for the comments! I have felt great all day so far!

The top is Theysken's Theory from the Rack - I paid under $30!

The pants are Classiques from Nordies, also available in black and in navy. My customers love them! Good for a booty or curvier bottom half.

Rae. you are looking fabulous! I love the Theory top! I love the pants and sandals too of course, but that bag is absolutely delicious. I missed her maiden voyage I fear, so I'm off to search your blog.  :)

Love grey and yellow together -- and the white provides a nice breezy spring lightness.

    Congrats on the program!

I love everything about this. Would love pants like those, but I can tell they're too short for me. Sigh. And that tee is awesome.

    Thank you for the lurve!

I just realized I skipped over the "program" - I will be attending classes for "future Nordstrom leaders." Kind of like pre-management prep school. :)

  • shemarie replied 10 years ago

Congratulations! And I adore this outfit...chic, fresh, and effortless...love it all! I broke out the sandals this week also, but I'm furiously taking notes from you as THIS is how I want to do spring/summer!

Looks very Helmut Lang.  Fantastic!  Love the shoes too.  Are they peep toe booties or sandals?  I can't tell on my monitor.

It feels like your style has become more sophisticated since joining your new department.  What do you think?

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

You look fantastic. I love the grey and yellow and the way your shoe straps complement the grid on the top.
Interesting how this colour scheme connotes the beach for you. It made me reflect that your beach stems from a very different geology to mine.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Jody, I had had the same idea. But booties never get too hot for me with skirts and shorts, so I'm sure they'll be worn plenty. :)

Denise, they are these sandals. And I definitely agree: my style has definitely shifted more toward what I'm selling. Makes me feel like I know what I'm talking about when I look the part.

Lantana, that is interesting! What sort of beach have you got?

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

Rae my beach doesn't have the blinding white sand of the archetypical Australian beach but it is, like them, made from broken shells as you can see in these photos.

  • Kiwibird replied 10 years ago

Congratulations Rae!   Love that T, and the bag, and the pants....

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago
