Hiking and Close Encounter of the Wild Kind

So, this is one reason I should pay more attention to my gear capsule: you never know when you'll be taking pics against a really great backdrop... in mismatched sweats. Oops. At least my vest is a good color for me.

#3 is me with a little sea lion (?) we spotted out on our walk... not sure why he was there all by himself, but we decided to move along, and he went back into the water right before another hiking/fishing group arrived at the same spot. It's kind of a weird hike that goes along the water to an old (and small and pretty boring) shipwreck, through piles of stinky seaweed and lots of rocky shore. There were a good amount of people around with kids, dogs, and surfboards. Hope the little sea dude was just out enjoying some warm-ish weather!

AHHH! You are so cute Rae ... and I love these pics! :) It looks like a fun place to hang out!

... and what is a boring shipwreck? :o

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing! The little sea mammal looks like he wants to warm his hiney. That's what our horses do to warm up after a cold night, put their rears into the sun like I put my back up to the fireplace.

Lyn, it was just disappointing because all that was left of the wreck was a few rusted out motor parts. Online reviews warned that it was a let-down, but wow. Now I know why we didn't find any pictures of the hike online while researching it!

Denise, that makes sense. Goodness knows I would like to stick my behind out in the sun if I'd been out in the rain for the last few days.

Oh WOW, picture #1 should be entered on a photo contest. Love the sea lion and I think the mismatched sweats work.

Hey, you can't be accused of being match matchy. The sea lion encounter must have made the hike worthwhile.
