Ebayed Theory Lanai inspired by Shannon and Una!
I am so impressionable. I am now heading to e-bay to look for a jacket.
In other words, it looks great and also should work with a multitude of looks from casual to professional to date night. Nice find Rae.
I need a macro on my computer for "Holy cow, Rae! You honest-to-God look better every single time you post!" ;)
Thanks for showing us how it should be done. Inspirational!
Very nice!
Now how would you wear a collared shirt with that?
Stunning. Ebay gods have smiled on you!
Stunning! I love how the jacket looks a little different on each of it's owners:)
Dana, I personally think a collared shirt would diminish the fabness of this jacket.
Great outfit Rae!
You look great rae - love the shoes.
IK - you made me laugh.
Looking good Rae!
The Theory Lanai seems like such a popular item here in YLF. Good to see you rocking it too!
I love your style Rae! You look fantastic!
So sharp!
That jacket is a wonder!
You look spectacular! eBay gods smiled on you, indeed!
Gorgeous, Rae.
And IK, it is no problem if you are willing to button said collared shirt. That's how I roll, anyway.
Actually, I haven't yet decided whether or not to keep my Lanai. But that's how I would roll, theoretically, if I kept my Theory. :-)
Oh, rae. I just love this one too. You are so stylish.
Very striking!
Holy smokes! You look amazing!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Yet another twin item! I love this on you and I guarantee you will find it infinitely useful.
The cut of this jacket is sooooo flattering! Love the striped handbag! YLF!
I'm loving your latest style evolution!
Your outfits just keep on hitting it out of the ball park lately. You look great Rae.
How do you button all the way without choking to death? Maybe my problem is having a short squat neck.
One of your best ever! I love everything about this, from the sparkle of your leaf necklace and bangles to your scrunchy skinnies and strappy shoes. You look gorgeous!
Oh my goodness! Just when I think you couldn't look any better you come along with another even more stunning look.
This is DYNAMITE! That jacket couldn't look better on you. Gorgeous outfit!
Killer
I love the feminine shoes with the outfit. That makes the look to my eye.
The whole look is stunning, Rae! YLF!
Nice! I am so tempted to try the lanai too. (Not as a suit, just the jacket).
What a stylish but comfortable looking outfit, love it :)
Love this and that handbag is amazing!!!
In reality, you were meant for Theory! Stunner of an outfit. What size are you? I "think" I'm a 2 (in the Gabe B, anyway), and I'm not sure how differently your Lanai is cut from the Gabe.
So... this jacket looks so fab on so many people, I'm also checking out eBay. :) Can you, or anyone else, comment on the sizing? Compared to somethng we probably all know, like BR? Hmm, maybe I should start a thread for that...
Oh, sorry, I was awestruck. I want MaryK's macro, cuz it's true!
Vicki and Elizabeth, I wear a size 2 shirt in Brooks Brothers, 0-2 in Ann Taylor tops, 6 in Karen Millen, 2 in Tahari, XXS in Danier, XS in my Banana tops, XS in the Nordstrom Nexx silk blouse, and I think I was a 2 in the last Gap blazer I tried on (don't currently own any).
In the Lanai, I take a 6! The 4 fit and looked nice, but it did not leave much room for movement in the shoulders. And I typically find most shoulders cut too big for me.
What Rae said. I'm one size up from Rae in most items and I'm an 8 in this blazer - Theory runs insultingly small IMHO, but it's worth the insult.
Nordies has a Navy Blue pinstripe Lanai on sale for 60% off right now! I would pull the trigger but sounds like I won't fit the brand from the comments. Hope someone else can take advantage!
Thanks, Rae and Una, for clarifying sizing. That's a pretty interesting range in sizes, which doesn't make shopping online any easier. I love the way this jacket looks on both of you.
I'm just your average working stiff who loves nice things and hates to pay for them. This blog outlines my efforts to navigate that treacherous shopping/saving divide through swappin', thriftin', and even a little resellin'. Many of the pieces in my wardrobe cost me just $1! We've heard a lot about people "living above their means" in recent years; I'm championing the concept of living large *below* your means - whatever that means for you. :)
