Team Wear, Team Weather

Today dawned pretty hazy and cloudy, so I felt it was the perfect time to debut my Ella Moss knit moto. I'm NOT happy with the way it looks like the tee shirt is pulling in the bust here - it didn't show like that in the house! I think it is time to upgrade to a new gray tee; this one is not only ancient but also a cheapie that bags out after a while. I did really enjoy wearing the jacket, though. It's a lovely and lightweight material that feels like a hoodie without... well, without being a hoodie, I guess. :)

Ella Moss moto - Nordstrom
gray tee - SO purged!
Light Gray skinnies - AE
Rockport "Anna Motor" boots - Shoebacca
Ted Baker bag - flea market
Faux Tortoiseshell necklace - flea market
White watch - Big Lots

OHHH I am SO copying this when mine comes! My problem is my light grey skinnies bag at the knee and need to be replaced, but I will keep them long enough to wear this!!

    Your makeup is lovely!

  • cciele replied 11 years ago

Great shades of gray today! I see what you mean by the tee though. If you find a good one let us know!

And you look so pretty in your close-up. Love the choppiness of your hair.

This looks great - LOVING that jacket on you!

I really have had good luck with the Gap favorite tees. I have a couple of heather grays that have lasted for years now. I try not to dry them much but sometimes they do go through.

  • amiable replied 11 years ago

    Completely lovely!

  • Raisin replied 11 years ago

This looks great! You've reminded me that I need to get light grey skinnies. Love the new jacket on you, and your makeup looks great.

  • Mo replied 11 years ago

Awesome! The choppy hair and feminine make up are a perfect match, too. Sad about the tee. Lately I feel I'm spending most my time replacing or upgrading faves that are wearing out - sigh.

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

love the hair! just love it....and stop tempting me with that jacket.... I am nooooot looking at it,

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

I have everything to do this look, and in fact I have it in my closet (jacket on top of AE skinnies) awaiting a day when I can be casually dressed!

In short, thanks for test-running it for me and showing me that it is PERFECT!

Someone should start a thread of copycat looks based on Rae's version! :)

  • Thistle replied 11 years ago

LOVE that jacket on you. Terrific outfit!

  • deb replied 11 years ago

Very cute jacket and I agree with you on the tee. Your hair cut looks so darned cute on you!

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 11 years ago

Rae that is a fab outfit in every way.

Ceit, could you use the metallic silver leggings in a similar outfit?

  • Caro in Oz replied 11 years ago

Fabulous outfit. Love your hair & make up.

  • replied 11 years ago

I probably could! Thanks for the idea!

  • Tina.b replied 11 years ago

Love the variations of all the grey paired with the white bag. Your feminine makeup really pops against this neutral palette. You are beautiful!

  • replied 11 years ago

ha, have we met? I seem to have more tee issues than anyone.
You look great. That moto was made for the UWPs.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

    Rae - you look GORGEOUS!!!

  • Karie replied 11 years ago

I love your knit moto! It looks great with the gray skinnies. Love your hairstyle too!

  • krishnidoux replied 11 years ago

I love the collars play together, and the necklace you have added is just what it takes to rock it even more.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Rae, you are so beautiful!! This is such a fab outfit. I think your new haircut has ramped your "cool" quotient through the roof. Add the new jacket, and WHOA. I also love the more ladylike structured bag with all these RATE pieces. It just works. And feels so LA (said by one who has never been there and has NO idea, admittedly...)

  • Sona replied 11 years ago

Rae: I'm just loving all these new looks, your hair, your makeup. I think if we thought you had hit your style stride earlier this is a style stride to the nth degree. fabulous work: its clear you put a lot of thought into your outfits. try h and m or gap for inexpensive basic tees.

  • JulieJohn replied 11 years ago

Hello Moto! You look fresh, lean, and altogether fab. Please buy a bowl of noodles for me in Blade Runner town.

  • Marley replied 11 years ago

Well - it is probably no surprise to you that I love this outfit - and your hair - and your makeup! I could almost dupllicate this outfit too - if I only had that Ella Moss jacket! Hmmmmm . . . think I'll go look on Nordy's website for it - or, for a cheaper version. Great outfit Rae - and your hair is awesome! Are you wearing that makeup that you told Vicki and I about? It looks so nice on you!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Really I can't get over the haircut. The jacket is made for you, the outfit looks fantastic, but the close-up is STUNNING!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Well you know I LOVE it :D Fab styling of the jacket, especially the white (light gray?) purse. I can't get over the makeup and hair though, it is just so amazingly different yet so very Rae. I don't think I can ooh-and-ahh enough!!

(I can't decide on which size of this jacket to keep. One size fits similarly to this, the other fits similarly to Una's. I'm leaning towards the larger more oversized one, but the shoulder seams are falling off my shoulders which is something totally new to me! Decisions, decisions...)

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

Fashion forward but so very comfy and practical --- a trifecta!

Are you feeling more comfortable with your hair? I love the way it reveals and highlights your features. Your makeup is flattering, subtle and edgy-gamine.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Rae I adore this jacket. The styling here is perfect and your hair and makeup are lovely. Do you find yourself wearing a little more makeup with the shorter do?

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    KILLER

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Aida, really? The S fits my shoulders well - otherwise I could probably have sized down too. Mine is not oversized, it's just not that fitted either. I like the way Rae's fits her. Post some pix!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Una I thought it was soooo bizarre after you said they fit you well since our shoulders are, like, totally the same size! But the seams are clearly dropped off the ends, and the fit is oversized. The xs fits similarly to Rae's here. I'll take photos and post soon! Sorry for temporary hijack :)

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Thank you for the boosts, ladies - I was feeling pretty chunky after seeing how the tee pulled in front. :T

Mo, yeah, I've replaced and upgraded a lot this year. My old self keeps cringing because in a way it *feels* like I am spending $ with no real increase in goods, lol.

Zap, what is it about tee shirts? I feel I've never been 100% happy with any except the graphic tees I get in the little boy's section.

Marley, yes! I am wearing Baviphat Magic Girls BB Cream (Korean), Eyes Lips Face blush/bronzer ($1-$5!), Rimmel London lip gloss, Neutrogena eye liner (yay, no itching!), and an adorable kitty theme mascara - Tonymoly Cats Wink (also no eye irritation... a first for me).

Beth Ann, I feel much more *confident* about my hair, but I still feel a little bit off. Not 100% sure if it is "me" this short, though I do find it aesthetically flattering. :)

Deborah, YES. I wear tons more makeup now, lol. Well, "tons" to me, since I was not used to much. I really like how the additional makeup looks at work.

Aida and Una, the shoulders are actually a little dropped on me, too. Not quite an inch on either side.

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Oh that's good to know Rae! So maybe the S isn't too far off (not sure I want the body quite that loose though), the drop sounds about like what yours is but it sure threw me for a loop ;) And how cuuute is your kitty lid mascara!!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Yeah, the shoulders are def. wider than most brands right now, and a surprising amount of ease in the body for an XS. I think even a year ago, I might have dismissed it as too big, but I have enough of the super-fitted look represented in the closet.

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Right? I thought I'd maybe ordered S and M at first!

  • replied 11 years ago

I have my fingers crossed the M will be good for me!

  • Debora replied 11 years ago

Wow! Your hair is making me swoon - it's so amazing! Cool jacket, too.

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

I LOVE this look. I also wouldn't waste my time worrying about the tee ;-). You look so hip and cool. WOW!

  • Lyn D. replied 11 years ago

The jacket really is a winner, and who would wear a hoodie when they could wear something just as comfy but super Fab.
My D.D. would love the Kitty mascara too-very cute.

  • cciele replied 11 years ago

Ceit - mine is M and fits well with some ease. The shoulder seams are maybe half inch over my shoulders. I think you should be fine though now I feel like I have giant shoulders or something ;)
